I went to Chicago on Memorial day. I was hoping to find a Romanian restaurant and Little Bucharest Bistro had the best reviews. Even though it said it was closed on Mondays,i decided to give it a call. The owner happened to be there and...More

Went there last Saturday with 13 friends. There were only a couple other tables taken. They treated us like Kings. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent, could have order 15 things on the menu. One complaint the food had way...More

We really enjoyed ourselves at Little Bucharest. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Our young waitress was from Romania and steered us to her favorite menu items. Cabbage rolls with polenta were excellent, as were the strip steak and pot roast. We finished up...More

We learned of this restaurant from an internet search, so I signed up for their email updates. My wife immigrated from Romania, and became a naturalized citizen a few years later (I say this to so you know where I'm coming from). That said, I've...More

We went on a Sunday since they have roasted pig or lamb. They were both very savory. Portions are large. Very fresh calamary, not rubbery at all, lightly breaded. Village salad was Mediterranean style with balsamic vinegar and feta cheese. I had the white sangria,...More

My Romanian heritage friend insisted that I try this restaurant. The first impression was it appears modest but then you walk into the dining room and WOW, so sweet. Comfortable lighting, stainglass windows, beautifully set tables and spotless. The waitress was attentive and receptive to...More

As a Romanian person I can attest that many of the dishes here are authentic. If in doubt what to order, try the eggplant spread, mititei and stuffed cabbage rolls. The owner's presence made the dinner all the more entertaining. I wish they had some...More

Went here after work with some friends for a birthday party. The outdoor seating is great during the summertime. The restaurant owner took very good care of us and all the staff were very pleasant. The Romanian food was absolutely delicious. Also, for the drinkers...More

Sorry, I don't know what beer they served. If they don't, it's still worth the entertainment!

With a history spanning over three decades, Little Bucharest Bistro has a new face in Chicago's Old Irving Park area. Originally opened in 1970 and closed in 2004, the new Little Bucharest, which translates to "Little Paris of the East", blends a touch of Eastern European heritage with American contemporary fare in a vibrant and modern atmosphere."I wanted to bring the signature high-energy vibe of the old Little Bucharest into a new setting," says restaurateur Branko Podrumedic. "The bistro will present Eastern European flavors in an approachable way to appeal to a more diverse yet discriminate audience." Little Bucharest is a must stop on any visit to Chicago.
