My wife and I have celebrated anniversaries and birthdays at Roy's. Located at 720 North State Street at the corner of State and Superior, across the street from Holy Name Cathedral, it is the definition of the high-end chain serving notable chef Roy Yamaguchi's Hawaiian fusion fare in a contemporary setting. It is conveniently located, the bar scene is noisy,... More

Visited with friends to celebrate my birthday. Excellent food and delicious drink! The rib appetizer is amazing. Salmon was tender and scrumptious. We found a Groupon and saved 50% off the dinner price, but would have been happy even without the discount! Marlin was our server and added to the delightful evening. Don't miss the chocolate lava cake for dessert!... More

Roy's is always worth the drive for us. The food is consistently great and the service can't be compared. Excellent gluten free options. We always leave excited to start planning to come back again. Be sure to save room for dessert!

Went on a Saturday night for a date with my wife. Both of our dinners were very well presented and very tasty. Portions were more than adequate, and we left quite full. Appetizers (vegetable roll; pork ribs) were excellent. Entrees were also tasty and good portion. Key lime pie dessert was outstanding. Added a side: bacon mac and cheese with... More

I recently attended a business dinner here on a Monday night. The group was about 10 people. The selected appetizers were the highlight of the meal. Ribs were excellent, sushi roll was good and the chicken skewers were cooked well. The mains were good but unremarkable. Service was attentive throughout.

If it's cold outside, DO NOT sit near the windows unless you want your feet to get frostbite. The service was good, and most of the food as well. They were very good about making sure dietary restrictions were addressed. The lobster bisque and shrimp tempura roll were spectacular. My wife's tofu was not worth ordering ever again (no flavor).... More

I attended a business dinner at this restaurant. I sampled appetizers, lobster bisque, butter fish, and dessert. Everything was excellent. The lobster bisque was a bit different than others I've had because it had a bit of spiciness to it which I liked. The butter fish was as good as any fish I have had. Together with some good wine... We had a lovely family meal here the night after Thanksgiving. For full disclosure we had a Travelzoo for a prix fixe dinner for four. There were five of us. Our son just ordered off the menu and was extremely pleased with his meal. For the Travelzoo we had the chicken spring rolls, grilled Cesar salad, choice of entree and... More

Nice Hawaiian Fusion cuisine and having been to the Original in Honolulu, this is one is just as good without the travel miles. Service has been described by other travelers as slow and I agree. But the food preparation and meals are excellent. Their cod dish was delicious and you must not leave without having the Chocolate Souffle. Keep in... More

First of all, this is a really nice restaurant that is actually kids friendly. That is not always easy to find. We had an array of appetizers with a canoe of 2. We went there from a recommendation from a friend to try the butterfish. We were not disappointed. It was really delicious and properly cooked just right. Love their... More
