Great atmosphere. wonderful food. People were nice I had a butcher's steak. It looked like salad with decent amount of meat at first glance but it tasted fastasic with wasabi in it.

1. The food is very good. Think new American fusion, small & large plates, served family style. Big bold flavors and very fresh ingredients, lots of citrus, spice and savory. Our favorites were the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with sausage & the charred cabbage and quinoa platter. 2. It is a narrow long space crammed with 50 plus seats. If... More
Was recommended this restaurant by a friend. I was excited since I like spanish food. I started with ordering the chorize with medjol dates(honestly I don't understand why people rave about it? in my opinion it wasn't good), the steak was nicely cook and I also ordered the paella, it's not an authentic spanish paella but it's not bad. The food was delicious, especially chorizo staffed dates! Nice atmosphere and great service. Communal tables are not my favorite, but I will definitely come back!
Wow! You must get the chorizo stuffed dates, they are memorable. This was my second visit and first for my husband. Busy, urban, young crowd of professionals. The food is just fantastic. Priced fairly, service attentive. We shared the paella and very much enjoyed. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but so worth the experience. Seating is... More

Love this restaurant! I sat at the huge community table which was so fun, we ended up chatting with the people around us the whole time. The food is so good! We got a bunch of small plates to share. I highly recommend coming here!
Loved Avec and their sister restaurant, Black Bird. We had drinks next door while we waited for a table. The staff is attentive and friendly. Must get the chorizo-stuffed dates and the pork shoulder. This is the meal that we compared all other Chicago meals to.
