Ceres Cafe, located in the Chicago Board of Trade, is one of the most desirable restaurants for a business lunch. Ceres has lunch specials that vary daily along with their made rom scratch soups. A variety of salads and sandwiches are also available. If you are in a rush and need to eat at your desk, try the Cellars Market... More

We both had the 2 which special that came with choice of meat, bread, choice of potatoes or fruit and coffee for under $9. Quite the deal for downtown Chicago. And the food was very fresh and good. Nice decor too. The café is located inside the Board of Trade building which has beautiful art deco architecture.

This was a recommendation from the security guard at our office. The food was average and not anything memorable. I won't come here again. We came after work around 6:30 and the inside was dead. They were cleaning up the place even though they closed at 8:00. Maybe, lunch is better. I got the salad and I didn't think the... More

Just below par from what I was expecting. Sure my eggs came out quickly, but they were just OK, nothing to stand out. I was most distressed by the failure to reload my coffee after two reminders. I think you could do better for breakfast elsewhere.

Went to Ceres Cafe with some coworkers for lunch, and overall, this is a really busy place, but mainly because there aren't that many options, because this place is just average. Because I was just visiting Chicago, I wanted to find a place that I hadn't been to in downtown Chicago, and my colleagues recommended this place. We were able... More

While the indoor portion of Ceres Cafe is a fine establishment, the exterior "sidewalk cafe" is what makes this place truly unique. This is no Lincoln Park sidewalk cafe though. Don't attempt to order a beignet and don't bring your toy dog. Do order a gin & tonic and do enjoy the bustle of Jackson Blvd. You might also consider... More

The drinks are amazing! Really strong drinks. The appetizers were delicious. The service was a little slow but, the drinks made up for it!

Consistently good food and drinks but if you eat breakfast and enjoy freshly made corned beef, the Ceres and it's downstairs cousin in the Chicago Board of Trade Building provide the best in the country. The Eagle Café in San Francisco is good, this is way better.

No pun intended, the best bar in Chicago, certainly downtown Chicago. Great drinks, nice atmosphere (certainly during summertime at the outdoor spot), and their prices are quite affordable (in relation to it's in area peers). Excellent location, large, stiff drinks, nice beer selection, (can I say beautiful waitresses?), and a completely underrated food menu.

So allow me to begin by saying that Chicago, one of the greatest cities in the world, is also home to this little number. Ceres cafe is awesome, if you order a vodka tonic, you will get a glass full of vodka and a splash of tonic on the side....The same goes for any other alcoholic beverage. All of this... More

Conveniently located in the North lobby of the Historic Chicago Board of Trade Building, Ceres Cafe is owned and operated by restaurateurs celebrating their fifth generation of restaurant ownership in Chicago. Dedicated, since 1967, to bringing the freshest ingredients possible to the financial district. This year, Ceres has teamed up with Rustic Road Farm in Elburn to grow organic produce for our famous soups, tossed to order salads, and daily specials. At Ceres and Cellars Market, our lower level food emporium, our recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. While our numbers are large, serving several thousand people a day, we still do things the old fashioned way, making dishes from scratch using the highest quality ingredients. According to one reviewer, Ceres Cafe Bar & Patio is the "best kept secret in the loop". Hefty cocktails, great bar snacks and plenty of people watching make this the place to be for after-work cocktails or a light supper before the train.
