Not sure why I haven't made it here before. Went with 2 girlfriends during the week. It was packed! They were behind with reservations so we popped over to Intro for a cocktail. Then they even came to update us about the table, sent our friend to join us and came to get us. How's that for service to start... More

Weve been going to Mon Ami for at least 10 to 12 years, almost always Lincoln Park. the Oakbrook location is just another mall restaurant. Mon Ami still has charm, location, a good menu, decent service. But like most popular restaurants, the charms decline over time because it's still a food corporation. prices creep up, quality and portions decline. our... More

Excellent service and amazing ambiance. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, gave great advice about specials and choices on the menu. We sampled quite a few items: Chicken pâté (very smooth with fig chutney, it was beautiful). French onion soup - special (very large serving). Fillet mignon merlot (steak was perfectly cooked, although I think sauce on the side... More

We had reservations for 8pm on a Wednesday evening. We were seated about ten minutes after our reservation. I noticed the service was very attentive, and caring. The food was excellent! Best French onion soup I've ever had. Save room for dessert. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Great food at reasonable prices as one expects from Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. Service is always friendly. Lively atmosphere. Wonderful setting in a classic, historic apartment building. Save room for the profiteroles. Always finishes the meal perfectly! Favorite place to eat whenever we're in Chicago. Can finish the evening strolling around Lincoln Park.

The place may be more costly, but you do get the service for it. From the host at the entrance, to the service by the table, the food choices, and attention to the details both on food preparation and presentation. Unfortunately I ended up not really dressed appropriately there by accident, and did feel a bit uncomfortable, since everyone else... More

Went this past Monday night, the place was super busy- service was slow but I had the feeling that the kitchen was backed up. Food is very good and our server was sweet and because we were seated 25 mins after our reservation, they gave our table 2 desserts on the house, nice way to complete the meal and to... More

I had read some pretty good reviews of this restaurant and was very disappointed. The food was mediocre...I think the peas and corn they serve with the scallops were frozen veggies. There seemed to be issues with the staff as well. For example, patrons couldn't find the bellman to call a cab when they were leaving. Rather than helping, the bar... More

Mon Ami Gabi bills itself as "A Classic French Bistro" and having enjoyed dining in bistros in Paris, I would have to agree with their description. The bistro, located on the first floor of the Belden-Stratford Hotel, allows you to walk out of Lincoln Park into a charming Parisian environment that looks, smells, sounds and tastes like the real thing.... Description
Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.
