Went to this place as was missing desi khana.. and to our surprise, this place served amazing food. authentic punjabi khana! felt like I am back in Delhi. The spread is limited but is very delicious. And is def worth a visit..

It's not very good Indian food and they are overpriced. I also question the freshness of the food, and service could be friendlier. If you can't make the drive to Devon Avenue, you are much better off going to Ghareeb Nawaz on Halsted street in the UIC area (limited menu, but excellent food at excellent prices). I give it three... More

Rajun Cujun serves Indian Food and "soul food"… to be honest here, the Indian food is pretty good. The soul food on the other hand, let me just say stick to the Indian food. For me soul food is tough to eat in a restaurant, it is such a personal thing, no one house makes the food the same, even... More

I have only had take-out because my spouse does not eat spicy food. The food here is great with ample portions. My favorite are the samosas. Nice family run restaurant.

When we arrived I was super skeptical…Indian and Cujun? Plus it's just a tiny storefront, crowded cafeteria style area to place your order…but you can see everything they offer right there. We got a little of everything…5 meals so we were able to try most of their Indian curries and vegetable offerings. We took it to go because there was... More

Small family run place, during our time in Hyde park we've been steady costumers. The food is tasty, mostly spicy.

The dishes are wonderful. They are made to order so if you wish something to be blackened Ron would be happy to do that for you.Ron the owner he is hysterical,if you don't banter from the owner well to bad he is the ambiance of this restaurant. We live near Midway and we try to get there at least twice a month.

Its Rajun Cajun, not Cujun. The odd combination of Indian and Cajun. I violated my rule of avoiding odd combinations, to my regret. The common denominator of these two cuisines: Instead of culinary skill you can just pepper the hell out of everything and no one knows the difference. My 3 Indian dishes, supposedly "not very spicy" were as hot... More

I am relatively new to hyde park and am looking for nice places in the neighborhood. I heard good things about this place so I was glad I got the chance to sample it for lunch. I had buttered chicken and Samosa with rice, and my wife had fried chicken. The food was OK, nothing impressive. The chicken was on... More

This fast food spot has been a favorite of ours for more than 10 years now. The food is inexpensive and always very very tasty (we tend to stick with the Indian fare). The samosas are some of the best I have ever had. I recommend the vegetarian meal - all the veggies are delicious, and it comes with a... More

Staying in Hyde Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Hyde Park
If you want to get a feel for quintessential South Side Chicago, you have to make a stop in Hyde Park, one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods. This historic area is home to two of the city’s most prominent cultural institutions, the Museum of Science and Industry and the University of Chicago. A stroll here will bring you past vintage and grand hotels converted into luxury apartment buildings; peaceful gardens, parks and green spaces; and ivy-adorned museums and other cultural institutions that speak to the city’s diversity and architectural beauty.
