My sister and I spent the evening in Chicago recently and learned about Sepia from a magazine at her hotel. And I was so glad we decided to go there! I think it can be hard to create a "new American" menu in an innovative way, but in my opinion, Chef Zimmerman did just that. The tasting menu featured 5... More

Sepia is located west of downtown on Jefferson between Washington and Randolph. The chef is very talented and features locally-sourced ingredients. The menu emphasizes meat and fish entrees and has limited options for vegetarians. The presentations are stylish -- although mine appeared disproportionally small on the large white plate.

We were here with a group of 12. It all started with a cocktail at the bar. The barman was extremely creative and created for every individual a specific cocktail based on their preferred drinks. Afterwards we had our dinner à la carte and the food and service were excellent. Also this restaurant is very well decorated. I will definitely... More

Dining at Sepia was such a wonderful experience. From the wine to the presentation of the food, everything was excellent. Had reservation but had to wait a little. But the food more than made up for it. Loved everything at Sepia.

We dined here on a Thursday evening. The service was fantastic, everyone was so attentive and helpful with ingredient information and drink recommendations. The nice touch at the start was when the host offered to take my coat for the duration of the meal. Little touches like this go a long way. It was busy, but did not feel crowded,... More

Cool atmosphere, food was delicious. The chicken entree was one of the best dinners I've had in quite some time. Added bonus- Bartender made the best Cosmo ever!

My husband and I went here for an anniversary dinner. I wanted to go somewhere with Michelin stars as I have never been to one before. The food was high quality, but not the adventure I had been hoping for. I had the rabbit dish and my husband had the duck. We also had the oxtail dumpling appetizer. I had... More

One Michelin star. A menu with seasonal ingredients and an extensive wine list in a cloth-bound book. The restaurant isn't large but the tables are spaced well-apart so there's elbow room. And you can carry on a conversation without having to shout. The interior is a bit dark with wood panelling and brown naugahyde covered tables, smoked mirrors and crystal... More

What.a.disappointment. It'd been a long time since we visited Sepia, and we had nice visits perviously, so we were really excited to head there with friends we hadn't seen in a long time for a weeknight dinner. We had a poor experience--terrible service and uneven food. We arrived about 25 min. before the reservation time and our friends, so we... More

Just excellent all the way around. Split a salad, enjoy the rolls, very unique and delicious entrees, and split a dessert... great way for you and your dining partner to go at Sepia. The attention to detail was fabulous as was the service. Worth the $$.
