Pros: The atmosphere of the restaurant is interesting. The location is great for downtown Chicago visitors. Cons: The restaurant seems more like a tourist trap. The service was slow. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables she was covering. It took 15 minutes...More

We have a group party here each year. The upstairs party room is a fun venue. Good variety of deep dish pizzas and also regular crust. Apps included calamari and cheese sticks. All done well. Good service.

I am not normally a fan of deep dish because of soggy bottom crust. Gino has solved this problem by adding some corn meal to the dough. The result is a tasty crunchy crust stuffed with sauce and fillings. LOVED MY PIE!

We had heard about Gino's deep pan pizza and the Superior restaurant was a block from our hotel. We visited early evening and the restaurant was busy but we were shown to a table straight away. We were advised that a small pizza would be...More

It was a cold and wintry day outside. Excepting rain, rest all elements were in a vile mood. The five of us were weary on our feet after walking around in the cold and having endured an open deck boat cruise in the river. Gino's...More

This place was phenomenal. It was a really spunky and creative atmosphere, and the staff was kind. The service was really quick, and it was super fun. The mozzarella sticks were delectable, and came in a nice amount. The pizza was really fresh, cheesy, and...More

Came with a tour group for a reserved dinner. Seating was crowded but worked out ok. The spinach pizza was by far my favorite.

The deep dish pizza was burned and so drowned in tomato sauce as to make the toppings unintelligible. Don't waste your time at this tourist trap.

Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago

place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Don't know the hours. But don't think worthy to go there if in busy time. Our last visit, ordered appetizers for waiting for the pizza. Finally, they came with the pizza after an hour. It is not great as ads.

Description
For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year!

Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.
Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.

Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
