My wife and I visited the Crown and were met by the hospitable owner Andy. Very informative on what's happening in the area and what to see. We eat there two nights running and found the food to be very good. Andy did highlight the food would take a while to cook because it is cooked fresh. Well worth the... More

We visited the crown, on a Friday night as we were staying in a local lodge. I really wasn't expecting this level of food and more so this level of service from a local pub. We had 3 small children with us, the youngest being 12 weeks and from the moment we entered we were made to feel so welcome.... More

Absolutely brilliant eaterie, very friendly and dog friendly. Lovely open fire and given a very warm welcome. Lovely choices of food both for adults and children alike. Portions were more than filling and presented well. My daughter has dined here regularly before but it was our first time and we will certainly be back..even in the winter months.

Super food, well cooked and presented and good value. Order taken by someone au fait with the ingredients (one of the party needed gluten free) and service was with a smile! Surprised to find Tribute so far north, might have preferred something a bit darker and more local but if that's all I can find to pick at then it's... More

Excellent meal and service, they went out of their way to adapt a dish to make it gluten free. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Everything is fresh cooked so you might have to wait little longer but it is well worth th wait.

We called in on 30/8/16 and were met by a friendly barmaid who took our drinks and food order. We both went for the fish and chips and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. Not because we expected anything poor, but because we were in an average country pub - but the fish quality was like we were in the... More
