Channel 23 out of Rockford tipped me off to this place, because I would never have stopped here otherwise. Their morning weathercaster Aaron was on his way from Rockford to Freeport and reminded viewers to stop here for a burger. So I did. Their menu is extremely limited...they just have a grill. Their giant burger is $4.75, cheese costs an... More

We stop here regularly on our way in and out of town. We get a burger every time. They are simply the best and haven't changed in decades. We get the same delicious burger every time. We know the family and they are great folks also. The burgers are made to order so if you know you're going you can... More

I would have rated this place an "average" rather than "poor", but my glass of wine had parts of an old crystallized highball in it. Found out on my last sip!!!! And it wasn't even in a wine glass, although they served several types of wine. Ordered a burger. Wanted fries, but be warned...they do not have a fryer. So... More

Eat here. This is a gem of a burger place. My husband and I stopped here on a road trip around 2 in the afternoon. There were a good number of guys sitting at the bar. The bar tender was alone and he reported he was very busy, in a pleasant way. He did great getting us what we wanted;... More

This is a must stop for one of the best burgers I've ever experienced. Make sure you get lots of cheese, if that is your thing. Ice cold brew and a friendly staff makes this a great place to stop for a bite or a cold one.

My husband and I traveled to IA/WI about every month or two for several years and always stopped here on the way home! The owner was awesome and ❤ the menu,"Hamburger, cheeseburger, chips. You don't see it, we ain't got it". Super little hole in the wall, family -owned bar. We traveled from MI and they always welcomed our kids and... More

When ordering a burger. That's what u get. U can add a bag of chips if you like. The grill is small so if you are meeting people for lunch know it may take a but to get your burger. They are big but mine wasn't thoroughly cooked. I'm not a raw bloodly burger type of person. But didn't want... More

By far, the best burgers for 100s of miles around. We have been going there for over 40 years. Beware of the fact that it is a bar and some customers are a little rough. Don't bring the kids. A huge burger and a couple of beer for two will be about $20.

After reading ,in a neighboring newspaper, about a Freeport,Illinois pub that offers fantastic burgers-we decided to schedule a stop. After getting our car tuned up in Monroe Wisconsin, we thought what an opportune time to grab a famous burger. The tavern is on a busy road- US 20, with no close neighbors, so easily located. Inside the small building you... More
