Amazing french and german food. Everything we've tried is fantastic. The ambiance is very romantic and the restaurant is small, so make a reservation. It's a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend it.

Wife and I had dinner and I ordered the Rindsrouladen. Without question the driest piece of meat I have attempted to eat in my life. The table next to us had the same dish and said it was great so maybe I got the leftovers from the previous day. Everything else was first class. I'll try Fritz again but likely... More

I had Bookbinder soup, Beef Bourguignon, French bread (yummy) and brie with apples. Everything was terrific. I did not like the brie, not because it was not good..it was good. I just decided that I do not like mushy, stringy cheese.

Reserve early! This French-German restaurant has the atmosphere l'amour perfect for proposals. We had a women's weekend and saved this spot for last. Duck pate tasted better than braunschweiger, and the split pea soup was savory beyond measure. The table ordered schnitzel, sauerbraten, and rolladen as entrees. I had the sauerbraten, which was expertly marinated and slow-cooked for days. Sisters... More

This was our second time visiting Galena and of course our second tine having dinner at Fritz and Frites. The food and drink is fantastic! A truly nice little restaurant to sit and relax. However, to me, the best part of the place is their service. Tim was our waiter on both visits (four months apart). He is very professional... More

Many of argument can be had on the merits of Franco-German relations, but this restaurant is a powerful statement for the peaceful and fruitful comingling the cultures can have in complimenting one another. I was surprised to find out that this place has been open for ten years in Galena! Holy cow am I happy to have dined here! Baked... More

We had a fantastic dinner at Fritz and Frites! This is a little restaurant (15 tables total) but so cute and very intimate! Call ahead to make reservations - it's worth it. The food was delicious. We had the escargot which wasn't great but completely overshadowed by our entrees. I had the cassoulet that was divine! It had shredded rabbit... More
