If you don't mind eating lunch surrounded by 'ladies who lunch' and young moms with babies and toddlers, this place is very nice. Outside tables in the nice weather are quite popular. Salads, omelettes, homemade soup, burgers - you know the drill. But everything is fresh, with high quality ingredients. Friendly staff, and perfect location in the middle of town.... More

Cute, cozy decor and a very good lunch menu got us excited. However, service is uneven (friendly, but water not refilled, timing off, etc.) and food is just ok. Omelets were tasty, although server forgot to bring the accompanying side dish. Burger was way undercooked and had to be sent back. We enjoy the friendly ambience and convenient location, so... Meg's has plenty of comfort food to keep you warm on a cold night. I'm a big fan of their chicken parmigiana in a light red sauce while my husband loves their salmon. As it is near a theater they are sure to get you out in plenty of time to make it to the performance on time.

Came here for dinner with friends the other day. We all enjoyed a cozy dinner here. I think that we all started with a soup. They offered three different varieties that night. I had the butternut squash and I loved it. It was nice and hot on a cold evening with flurries. For my main I had the lemon chicken... More

My Wife and I stopped in for dinner after a long day of house hunting. The tables were full but the bar was wide open and we were immediately greeted and seated. The specials to include a nice selection of half price wines looked delicious however we opted for lemon chicken and pot pie, both were very good and quite... More

Marvelous place for lunch. Menu has nice variety. Lemonade is the real deal. Portions were reasonable and tasty. Great place to stop before hitting Botanic Gardens.

My wife and I arrived for dinner before attending the nearby Writers Theater. The restaurant was very crowded and just about everything went wrong. I ordered chicken piccata and received something that didn't resemble what I expected. I tried eating it but found it terrible and the waitress replaced it with a simpler dish, grilled chicken with a side order... More

Glencoe is a small town has a great location and culture. On Theatre nights, when we go to the newly redone Writers Theatre, we often need a restaurant stop. We have frequented several restaurants in Glencoe and almost always end up at Meg's Café. We are always greeted in a pleasant way, seated, and treated to a good dinner. Last... More

My wife and I had dinner at Meg's cafe prior to Writers' theater. We were seated immediately and ordered a salmon salad, chicken salad and soup. The food came promptly. Salads were real fresh, nothing appeared to be sitting out. The chicken, especially, was incredibly moist and done perfectly, with mild herby flavor. The salmon was also nicely done. For... More
