Great atmosphere, great food and service. Was there for lunch corn beef was the special and was to die for. Very tender and tastee. My companion had the Caesar wrap which was reported to be good also. Hoping to get another trip soon so I can return. In warmer weather hopefully.

It was pretty quiet for a Friday evening but we really liked the atmosphere, the beer and the appetizer. No dinner. Just beer battered mushrooms that were very good. Excellent service. Probably more fun when it's warmer on the river.

Atmosphere was wonderful, you overlook the Illinois River and can watch the barge traffic. The food was spectacular and the service was friendly. It's a family friendly place with tons of character. We look forward to visiting the outside dining area in the summer!!

I was in the area on business and ate here for supper. I think when reviewing a place in an sparsely populated area, one must compare the restaurant to those in the area and for me I prefer not to eat at chain restaurant. For the area this place is really good, great atmosphere, good food, really nice selection of... More

After reading some previous reviews I decided to try it as this is my first time in Peru, IL. Sat of the paito along with herds of flies. I ordered a draft beer. The first one came with an alive bug in it. The waitress replaced it promptly. In fact all of the servers were attentive and very nice. Now... More

Local pub with fairly good bar food - order the "pub chips" appetizer. Good selection of Scotch for a small town establishment and very friendly service...

Hmmm…no review in 8 weeks?? Anyway, what a great place for a first timer! This eatery has a great atmosphere and a great outside seating area to overlook the river on a beautiful summer night. The service was good even though my server was in training. This restaurant has an extensive menu with plenty of choices and daily specials as... More

I went for lunch today because this use to be my favorite place to eat. My waitress was amazing, unfortunately my chicken was too dry to chew, so I tried to cut it with a knife, which also did not work too well. So I had to tear it apart with my fingers..when I complained about it, i heard the... More

Had a big burger and fries for lunch this day. Lots of food for a good price. Yummy! I've never had a bad meal here. Enjoy!

Description
Waterstreet Saloon was built as a bar in 1837 and was ran as a speakeasy during the prohibition. It was then renamed Barbenders Fine Wine & Liquors until around 1935. It was reopened in 1950 as Henry's Tavern which closed in 1984. In March of 2005, it was reopened with the name of Waterstreet Pub & Eatery. Waterstreet Pub has been family owned since 1950 and carries old tyme beers such as Schlitz, Hamms, Pabst, and Old Style, as well as add 31 draft craft beers and over 200 hard liquors. We are also the first bar in Illinois to offer Hamm's back on draft.
