We wanted to book Sunday lunch here after we tried the sister pub in Poynings (Royal Oak) When we came in, the atmosphere was really warming with excellent front of house staff who literally looked after you throughout your meal. A very good selection of Real Ales to which I chose London pride and believe me this pint was like... More

Booked in here for Sunday lunch on the strength of a review by Restaurants in Sussex. However the glowing report I read there was a world away from what we actually experienced! Admittedly we made last minute reservations but were told we'd have to be quick as they wanted to seat the next round of guests so it wasn't a... More

Been meaning to visit the Fountain for sometime now and after today's visit can honestly say it's been worth the wait. Great staff, great food and most importantly really dog friendly (loads of treats!). Thank you.

Brilliant pub with great atmosphere, excellent food, dog friendly and great staff. Full of character with log fires, a good range of beers and fine wine list.

We hired the skittle alley at the fountain for our mums 80th birthday party. Alex the landlord could not have been more helpful. The venue is beautiful, just right for the mixture of ages (6 weeks to 92!) that we had at this event. Everyone commented on the lovely ambience of the building, so much better than a sterile village... More

Having driven out the way to meet family here I can,t say I was overly impressed and it wasn,t up to the 4-5 star I previously rated it . I had vegi bubble and squeak ..mash and a bit of cabbage with egg on top and a bit of spinach - I was very disappointed with this hardly any veg... More

We stayed in a cottage nearby and walked through the fields to the Fountain inn. It has a lovely atmosphere with a cosy fire and delicious food!

We chose this place to have a Sunday lunch as it was a halfway point between Surrey and Brighton and had been mentioned as a top 10 restaurant for lunch by the Guardian. Our welcome was severely lacking as there was nowhere or no-one obvious to aim for so we lurked in the corridor until we were approached. The hosts... More

Visit here whenever I'm with friends in West Sussex. It never fails to delight. Great menu and wine list, we had squid and the black pudding starters, the later came with the crispiest piece of bacon ever,,fab. For the main I can recommend the ham hock plate which was so moist and tasty all washed down with Montipluciano d'abruzzio. The... More

We went with two friends for lunch. We meet here two or three times a year as it is half way from where we live. On this occasion we made a reservation although it was not necessary as it was mid week. Our friends were already there and we decided to go straight to our table in the restaurant .... More
