The name has changed, but not the ownership (at least not again). I believe these owners took over last year. It took years, but I finally got my husband to try sushi and...he likes it! It helps that this place has really good tasting sushi and the price is decent for the smaller (and quite tasty) rolls as well. 3... More

The service here is awesome. After going twice, we were treated like regulars with warm welcomes, treats for the kids, and waves hello and goodbye. I would estimate that we have been here eight times with the new owners. The maki rolls are wonderful, creative, and always fresh. The restaurant is clean and stylish. There is a nice selection of... Haru is under new ownership. I have been there three times since the new owners. I think the new owners and staff are quite friendly. They often toss in extras for me and have me try new items. I love their nigiri sushi offerings. They have good lunch specials. I also like their Una-don. The give generous slices on their... More

Husband and I come here regularly for lunch and dinner. Sushi never disappoints and gyu don and udon soups are the best around! Definitely the best in the area!

Stopped at Haru of Japan on a recent visit to DeKalb for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. The sushi was delicious, we tried the NIU sushi, it was excellent. We also had the bento boxes and teriyaki chicken. All was very good. The portions were quite large and everything we had was delicious. We can't wait to go back to... More

Some of the best -- and most beautiful! -- sushi in the Midwest! Great tempura, too. Very classy place. The price is a bit steep, but worth it.

Food and service is always consistent. Sushi is fresh and very accommodating. There seems to be plenty of seating.

I have been here a few times and had another very good experience last night. I had 15 pieces of nigiri suishi. The thickness of the slices of fish such as the maguro are more generous than other Japanese restaurants in the area. The unagi was also a generous and very moist slice. Sometimes unagi comes out dry in cheaper... More

My boyfriend and I went to Haru last night fore a belated anniversary dinner, and it was great! The lady who was serving us was friendly and attentive, but not doting. We split two sushi rolls and an order of fried rice and it was plenty for the two of us. The food was so delicious that even once we... More
