This restaurant has the warmth of wooden ceilings, walls, etc. and also a nice fireplace. We had the fried chicken---afterall, that is their claim to fame and we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Laura was so personable and looked after us! We are so glad that we stopped by here! It was a perfect stop on Route 66---gingham tablecloths and... More

Visited during a trip to Chicago. I had been here years ago and the food was fantastic. The chicken does have a unique breading and the mashed potatoes are real. The place is very busy and the tables very close together. The quality of the food is average and nothing special. White Fence Farms, not far from this restaurant is... More

My husband and I got a recommendation from the hotel clerk. He was totally right. It was within walking distance and we needed that walk after the ample portions. My husband had the shrimp and I had the macaroni. We're going back tomorrow to try the chicken!

Gotta try the hot wings! Fried to perfection the chicken and fish is very delicious. One of our favorite stops when we are in town. Service is fabulous and staff is very friendly and welcoming.

My wife and another couple and I ventured out here last Friday night for dinner, since we love fried chicken and also venturing out... A first visit for all 4 of us, and it is a classic "supper club" style restaurant with decor celebrating both Route 66 and chickens in all their glory. Our server was really cheerful and nice... We were on the road and looking for a place for fried chicken. My wife located Dell Rhea's and we hit the lottery. The place is out of my childhood memories. The salad/soup bar is not big, but very good. Try the cheddar cottage cheese ..YUM! The fried chicken is simply amazing. The breading is mouth watering and the chicken... More

My wife and I made this our first stop on Route 66 when we picked up our car from Midway Airport to make our jounrey to Springfield, IL (the first day of our road trip to LA). We picked up our car at 11am, and arrived here just after midday. The place was packed full of locals enjoying the Friday... More

Went here in 60's place was THE PLACE for chicken and good food. Not so much so, NOW. Place needs a face lift. Food was ok but I probably will not go back. Really built it up to my friends, they suggested Buona Beef but acquiesced. Even I voted for Buona Beef after we left..there is a Geocache near by... More

Great stop along Route 66. The service was friendly and the place was hopping. The fried chicken was not that great to me. It was recommended in all my travel books but still confused on why? The breading is like a cornmeal or breadcrumb type batter which is different but not what I like. I get the nostalgia of the... More
