I have two friends that I meet with regularly and we are spread across Chicagoland. When we get together we want leisurely service, good food, and a cozy atmosphere. Hot cakes was great on all counts! Just remember to bring cash!

Cute little place. I like the unique touches like mismatched plates and the painted vines and flowers on the walls. Not the destination for a quiet morning coffee or intimate chat with a friend, but more of a busy, cheerful, clattering kind of atmosphere with...More
Wonderful character, delicious food and reasonable prices if you can get in the place. Go early Everything is carefully prepared in this no frills restaurant. Extra large portions. Last time I was there they did not take credit cards so be warned A real gem...More
