This is my favorite breakfast place in the area. The employees are always kind and welcoming. The service is always great - both courteous and quick, but not rushed. The food is delicious and the prices are just right. I'd suggest Northside Diner to anyone looking for a good place to grab breakfast or lunch!

Had passed this place on occasion for years and never really noticed it. Stopped with a friend as she had heard it was really good. Definitely a "Diner" atmosphere. No hostess, next person in line just grabs a table when available, you can also sit at the counter. Seasoned wait staff that is helpful, friendly, and fast. Food was hot... More

Stopped in on Sunday about 9. The diner was busy but no one was waiting to be seated. Order was taken quickly. Two guests were served their waffle and biscuits & gravy, and two of us weren't served. We waited. Those with food finished their meals before the waitress came back to share that our food was given to other... More

Northside has excellent diner food! We go here consistently for breakfast on weekends and have always had good service and good food. Mind you it is not health oriented or gluten free but just good old diner food!

This is a tiny 50s diner, so full of atmosphere. When we walked in we saw a counter with stools occupied by some old men reading papers over their cups of coffee; there was a working jukebox, too. Felt like something out of a movie! The restaurant was packed the entire time we were there--a sign of the good food.... More

Great local place to stop in for breakfast or lunch! Glad we found it on the way to Chicago. Friendly conversation with regulars was a nice surprise as we're the free freshly baked cookies!

You can't get better anywhere. The breakfast skillets are overloaded with ingredients and flavor. The decor is old fashioned just like the prices.

We are newer to the area and have been looking for a breakfast place that is just real food without all the small portion/high prices fluff that seems to be all over this area. The portions here are not huge, but they are plenty and the prices are really good. The biscuits and gravy is the best I have had... More
