Acapulco Joe's has reasonable food with flavor and large portions. We visited late afternoon at a friends recommendation. Cheese, sauce, flavor, this was an unexpectedly good meal. Drinks were good; but a little expensive. We'll be back for the tacos.

Just a quick lunch, drinks are mixed with city water, we order different menus, chicken was ok. Beef steak was not that juicy, but acceptable. This is a city restaurant and may need some improvement or updating.

Acapulco Joe's never disappoints ! My daughter and I have been coming here for years ! The queso (small is plenty!) is amazing !! Love the combo plate ! A bit pricey, but the taste is unlike any other !!

We were only in Indy for the weekend and had to get an Uber driver a couple times. When our driver was taking us back to our hotel we asked for recommendation for places to eat for dinner. Our friends that we were with also enjoy trying the "local" spots when traveling so we asked the Uber what is a... More

Several of us ordered Chimis with no sauce on top. Yep, they all came out with sauce and had to be sent back. My seafood Chimi came out after several minutes after everyone else's after I asked where it was. The beans were runny. The chili con queso was very stringy and weird. Everything was bland. Out of the eight... More

I get the biscuit and gravy. The gravy has a southwestern kick and is delicious. Biscuits are big and light. The service is good but it takes the kitchen a bit of time to prepare the food.

TERRIBLE FOOD. Worse than Taco Bell. Asked for queso and was brought something that resembled cheese whiz. Service was terrible, what should have been a 40 minute lunch was an hour and a half ordeal. Will never return!

I used to go to Joe's at least monthly-but since moving from Indy we do not go anymore-until this week. First the positive - the salsa. It is still fantastic from the squeeze bottle. The salsa in the bowl is a nice addition. My go to item is the burrito. Sorry to say it is not close to what it... More

After a long walk around the Capitol building and a local war statue we made our way to this restaurant. We walked in the door at 8:58 and the sign said closing time was 9:00. They welcomed us and asked that we order fairly quickly since they were closing. We ordered margaritas which were good and then our food. Our... More

My hubby and I found this gem of a dive when hubby was attending Dental School at IUPUI back in the 90's. We were weekly regulars through his college years, and when we moved back home to Michigan, we REALLY missed our Acapulco's. So much so, that any time we are remotely near Indy, we make sure to stop in... More

Spicier than a Habanero pepper is our passion for great Mexican food. Despite having a deep love for the cuisine, simply cooking and eating it wasn't enough for us, and after becoming master chefs, all we wanted to do was share our food. Acapulco Joe's was established out of a desire to share. Since opening more than 50 years ago, we striven to bring the best of Mexican cuisine to all those who have been willing to try it. That's why we're Indianapolis' first Mexican Restaurant, we wanted to expose the north to the cuisine of the South.

Within Mexican cuisine, we specialize in cuisine from the Western Coast. We're different from the average Mexican Restaurant, with everything from the way we prepare our food to the spices we source for authenticity.

We invite you to come take that first bite and forget where in the world you are for a meal, let us take you on a culinary journey through Mexico.
