The sandwiches are still piled high. The hot potato salad is to die for, and they have tongue! A bissel heaven (well, close anyway).

I went to Shapiro's on Jan, 2017. Alone. I was downtown and decided to stop in since it had been a few years since I had been there. It had been a favorite of my family thru the years and since members passed away - just hadn't been. The are very clean. (I did not go into the restroom. I... More

Dropped in with my wife for their macaroons and they were the best. Also tried a black and white cookie and a sugar cookie and they were very good.

Very nice ambiance and great food at Shapiros. I have been there several times and all of the food is delicious. My kids go to IU and always want to stop by Shapiro's prior to the drive.

We've been going to Shapiro's almost every time we're in Indy since college days many years ago. The food doesn't change, which is a good thing! We went twice over New Year's weekend for both brunch and dinner. The prices aren't cheap, but portions are VERY generous. We usually split the sandwiches because they are huge. Got some desserts to... More

If you don't know Shapiro's, you don't know...good eatin'! This place is a 'MUST Do' when in Indy! Seriously, you really must visit this place, which has been here for over one hundred years! They're known for their Reuben, which is 'to die for', but everything is excellent here. We 'adjust' our trips through Indy so as to be here... More

I've been eating at Shapiro's for many years, from it's former downtown location to it's present south side location, and continue to do so every time I go back to Indpls. (my home town). The food is excellent.

Shapiros is a cafeteria style restaurant with the best stuffed peppers and peppered beef on rye. But you can go for brunch. It also has great pies and cakes. Take home the rugalach.

A 10 minute walk from downtown will lead you to the doors of the historic deli. Family recipes are still made daily with loving care. Mile high sandwiches, hearty soups & daily specials are created in this classic deli. Salads, desserts, plus traditional Jewish favorites are prepared quickly. The bakery also offers soft rye bread, bagels, pies, cakes & cookies.... More
