Visited this place after reading the reviews which sounded good. The restaurant is very clean, unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants around. The food was very good and portions very generous. The only negative was that some of the food orders were barely warm instead of hot, they need to make sure that hot items are served hot, not lukewarm.... More

We needed a lunch spot near the airport and selected this restaurant. the TA reviews were promising and spot on. We saw whole fish and authentic tacos delivered to nearby tables. The menu was excellent. I ordered a Lengua and a Pastor taco. My husband and brother ordered the same but added an Asada taco each. All were excellent. There... More

We just happened to stop by and made a great discovery. Everything from the chips and salsa to nachos to chicken quesadillas to the Texas burrito was delicious! The only problems were none of the workers spoke English and we had to ask for more chips twice. They weren't very busy but still not attentive enough. Regardless, all the food... More

This place has the best burritos and gorditas I have ever had. Meat is very flavorful and not dry at all. Waitress was very nice. Just one thing the menu some of it was just in Spanish.

The last time I was in Indianapolis, my friend and I wound up at the "other" El Maguey, which although owned by the same people, is not as good as the "original." This time, we went back to the "right one," and it was AWESOME (just like the first time). Just like the first time, my friend and I were... More

Great service and huge portions! Steak fajitas are the best! I only had a lunch portion and I'm stuffed! Ask for Olga! She's speedy and always has a smile!

We visited the location on High School Road. The service was good. The food was not the 'standard' that you get at other local Mexican restaurants. They offered a free bowl of a tomato based soup that had potatoes and carrots that had a lot of flavor. The chips were hot and crisp The salsa had lots of chunky onion... More

My husband and I were car shopping on the west side of Indy and asked someone at the dealership for a recommendation of where to eat around there. He said with a big smile, "What are you in the mood for?" I said, "Mexican!" He drew me a map to Taqueria El Maguey. We went there and it was a... More

Great, authentic Mexican food, but our waitress did not speak any English. Fortunately, my daughter is a Spanish/English teacher and she got us through the ordering with no problem at all. Other than tat, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, but the overall experience was well worth the visit.

Sometimes, you get the best tips from folks you meet on flights into the city in which they live, and this was one of those instances. During my January 10 flight from ATL to IND, I began chatting with the gentleman sitting to my left (Alex R.), a native of Mexico who had immigrated to the USA many years ago... More
