This place was recommended by a fellow traveler. We tried it and were definitely pleased. The name may be upscale but the atmosphere is down to earth. The wait staff is very solicitous but overly so. I had fried shrimp and have not had as large a quantity or the size of the pieces anywhere else for the price. My... More

My baseball team returned here as we were in town playing a tournament at the Field of Dreams. Carol is delightful to work with and is very accommodating as are the waitstaff. The food was great and reasonably priced. Everyone on our team and their wives, enjoyed the Ritz. We will definitely return - and have our tournament dinners here.

My wife and myself had dinner at the Ritz and were very pleasantly surprised. The meal was excellent and the staff very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was definitely small town America.

This is a cozy little diner downtown. Good food and friendly service. It's like a throwback to the 40s or 50s-great fun.

Service was terrible- we waited 15 min. for someone to even stop by to see if wanted anything to drink. The food was ok- nothing special. I would not rush back here. Cheap wine and only one brand.

We had two baseball teams with some spouses in town for a baseball game. Both teams met at the Ritz for dinner the night before. We had about 35 people and the owners could not have been more friendly or accommodating. They sat us all close together as requested and the wait staff was helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. The prime... More

Description
The Ritz has been a Dyersville favorite starting back in 1948. Dan & Carol Sawyer are the owners. Dan worked in the automotive field for over 25 years. Dan's father, Orval Sawyer, owned and ran a popular little restaurant in a nearby town of Earlville named The Town Talk. Interest in his fathers business and a love of cooking lead Dan & Carl to purchase the Ritz in 2003. His wife Carol, a Dyersville native, works along side Dan as hostess and bartender. We offer that personal touch that can comes from a privately owned restaurant. The Ritz has a full menu including our popular Homemade Soups, Prime Rib, Steaks & Seafood, Pork, Chicken, and Sandwiches. We also have a full service bar. Have Carol make you one of her Southern Comfort Old Fashions or one of your own drink favorites. Please stop in, We look forward to serving you. Thank you, Dan & Carol Sawyer
