We wanted something quick & casual after hiking. Pasta sounded good so we picked Zmarik. I had the Z'asisn salad with bow tie pasta, chicken & spinach paired with a Leinenkugals cranberry ginger beer...and a super moist chocolate chip cookie. Excellent!!!!

The food is incredibly delicious. It is glorified mac and cheese, with a twist, but it does have classic mac and cheese too. The lines gets long during the lunch hours, but moves really fast.

An inexpensive filling meal in downtown Iowa City. The ingredients are fresh and the staff patient and helpful. Sat in front window (the quietest place) to people watch. On mate liked the Krith-a-raki which was orzo, broccoli, green onion, butter and romano. I found it too rich with the butter. I like the lighter penne noodle with broccoli, chicken and... More

This place is my personal favorite. First, great prices (many below $8 per meal, without the drink). I always go for plain water. Second, the variety of choices and portion sizes. Third, super fast service, even during lunch (11- 12). Lastly - neat and clean place...See you there!

Granddaughter chose this for her birthday lunch after being ill for several weeks. Grandson wanted rice and both are picky vegetarians but this was a good choice. She had the penne pasta with butter and cheese. He had brown rice with just soy sauce. The lady at the register was very nice to both kids. She saw the birthday pin... More

Great place to have a hot, tasty, filling lunch, or take it to go. If you like garlic, don't miss out on the z’krith-a-raki (literally meaning orzo in Greek). For lemon-lovers, I highly recommend the z’lemon sauté. Also, FYI, the z’village salad is the closest to the actual Greek salad (as Greeks eat) that I've had in the US ("village... More

If you're like me and love to support all things local, you will definitely love having a local chain (Z'Marik's is based in Des Moines) alternative to the corporate Noodles & Co. Z'Marik's has a well-rounded menu of noodle and rice dishes, offered in small or large sizes. The mac & cheese is to die for and you can put... More

Cheap, convenient, kids love it. Good also for college students on a budget. Nothing fancy but clean and good service
