Very rustic, not sure of the attraction by other reviewers. Stopped by after a very long drive and not impressed much by the place. Didn't seem too clean, but others claim food was excellent. Not sure it was worth the drive.

Quaint, great tenderloin, nice staff. Would be a fun place to go in the summer. Outdoor seating with a nice view of the river.

Quaint restaurant in the middle of nowhere, next to the Skunk River. Not much seating so beware of that. And can be tricky to find if you've never been there. When we were there they'd been slammed with customers all day long, and two of the staff had called in sick. It's basically just a mom and pop kind of... More

This place was amazing! It took us forever to find as it is in the middle of a trailer park and off the beaten path. At first we were not sure if this was the place for us to eat and almost left but thought we would try it! It was amazing! It is small and only fits about 30... More

Love this little 35 seater on the banks of the Sunk River run by Butch Bittle. Small, quaint and eclectic sum up what you see when you walk in, but don't let it fool you. The food at this place rocks!. Besides the best tenderloins in SE Iowa in my opinion, they have some really unique sandwiches like the zombie... More

You won't regret your trip to the River Rock Cafe on the banks of the Skunk River at Oakland Mills. The pork tenderloins are among the best you will find anywhere! Soak in the non-chain charm and friendly staff - just don't sit in the back corner of the front room next to the fireplace unless you are a really... More

The food is always so good here. I just wish that they would go back to real silverware. Plastic just doesn't cut it, literally!

Off the beaten path. Local, one of a kind places. Anything, but another chain. If you're not a local, you'd best rely on your GPS, because yeah. Middle of nowhere. Charming former townsite of Oakland Mills. Old iron pedestrian bridge. Outdoor seating. Kitschy decor. A few old black and white photos of the former storefront, turned burger dive. Up a... More
