In a land of mediocre food, this place stands out. From appetizers to dessert, everything was amazing! Service was fast and friendly. I never thought I'd eat ceviche in Iowa, but I'm really glad I gave it a try.

Great food and great service. I had the vegetarian meal and it was good. The unbattered plantains are better then the battered. Husband had a steak dish and it was great. Kids loved it too. We got our 4 kids the dinner for 2 adults...More

We have eaten there approximately once a month and really enjoy the Ecuadorian dishes. I would highly recommend the variety of choices and the dedication the chef has and the quality you can expect.

The pulled pork was great! The empanadas were very tasty as well. Good service with menu suggestions if you're interested. Go for something different and fun!

I visit f Mi Patria... and Ecuadorian restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa... I would recommend it to have a good taste of South American good. The Lomo Saltado is definitely a different version of extraordinary Peruvian lomo saltado, but it is still good and presents...More

We loved this place! Just passing through and used (once again) the indirect advice of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. And another winner! Pulled pork was great and the empanadas are delicious perfection. Don't miss it!

Isn't Lomo Saltado a Peruvian dish? According to Wikipedia and many sites it is a Peruvian dish NOT an Ecuadorian dish

That may be correct. I would not think an Ecuadorian restaurant would be required to serve only Ecuadorian originated dishes.

I wouldn't expect a problem, but it is a good idea, none the less, to have a table.

They have a small wine & beer selection. As is typical of many small restaurant owners, they often carry lower-end, less expensive, well-known selections. It would be a boon to business and customer dining experience to have... More
