Smallish,, comfortable and good food. Grill in plain sight so one can see what is being cooked and how. Good food odors wafting through the restaurant, making one's mouth water. Popular with the locals

This has got to be one of the world's friendliest places. My husband and I went through Hutchinson on our way to AZ. We like to take the less traveled roads and eat where locals eat. Trip Advisor helps us make some good decisions. This one is a charmer. We walked in and found the place "unchanged" I think perhaps... More

This modest cozy Main Street diner has been a home town favorite for generations. And don't let the name fool you. There's a lot more than steak here. Savory breakfasts. Leisurely lunches. Late evening pie and coffee. And, of course, steak or other tasty dinners -- or suppers, if that's what you call it. Skaets certainly is gourmet, but it's... More

Great locally owned place to eat! Delicious food, breakfast served all day, fun, friendly staff, clean hometown restaurant! Not a lot of seating room for large parties, but still a great local place to go eat!

Love to eat at Hometown Diners. Stop in for breakfast on a Sunday morning before a appointment I had. Very busy took longer than I had planned on. But it was worth the wait. Friendly staff keeps your glass full. It is fun to watch the cooks behind the counter at the grill. Will be back again.

Friendly service and good food, what more do you want from a local restaurant? This place provides both.

True local diner, replete with counter service in front of the grills/fryers. Stick to your ribs (arteries as well) fare, whether it be breakfast fare, burgers, or chicken fried steak. Service is generally quick, efficient, and sometimes friendly, sometimes not. Either way, enjoy the local flavor and fare. BTW, "Steak Shop" may be a bit misleading - the real beef... More

I had the Moon Burger, which is their bacon cheeseburger. It was fresh, and very tasty. The fries were cut fresh in house and were good as well. Friends had the chili, and loved it. Service was good, and the restaurant was clean. I would recommend it.

I haven't had many of the menu items. The Special Omelet was one of the first things I ordered, and I don't really get anything else now. :). You can't say much for decor, because there is none. It is basically a diner. The atmosphere is good because it is usually locals that know one another, and it is busy.
