Delicious authentic Japanese food. And we would know, having been to Japan! Quite busy so we made a reservation. Service was prompt and courteous. My wife had the plum wine which was orange like it is in Japan. We ordered tempura shrimp, beef yaki soba, and 4 different types of rolls (New Orleans, Diablo, Wasabi, and Island). Everything was delicious,... More

The service is slow and you are treated like a you don't exist if you don't have a reservation. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. This was by far the worse experience I've had at a restaurant. Add in the food was subpar and it just made this a waste of time and money.

Ate at their Westport Village location. Very attentitive service and the food excellent. We wnt back a second time, it was so good. I have spent a lot of time in Japan on business and pleasure over the years, so I have a good feel for the real thing. THis restaurant and itd food would hold its own in Tokyo or... More

My without a doubt favorite go to place to eat in Louisville. The food is phenomenal and never fails to please. They have real sushi and they have Americanized rolls as well. Their shrimp dumpling soup is the epitome of umami. You cannot go wrong here with whatever you desire to eat.

It is surprising to have Japanese restaurant in this city, kind of amazing place for asian people. This time I have stayed in Louisville, only famous because of Kentucky Derby and nothing much. About this Japanese place, we were about to have another place, its called Sapporo steakhouse but it seems closed for good so that my wife and I... More

We searched the most rated Japanese restaurant and went to this place. I will give 3.5 out of 5.The service 3.8 point, The accuracy on the request. 3. The quality of the food 4. But they gave us only lunch menu. But I saw that the server gave the other menu (Rolls) to other customer, which give me uncomfortable. There... More

Liked the comfy booths, most unlike a Japanese restaurant. The gyoza pork dumplings were crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. (x4 for $5) Namesake Hiko-a-mon ramen had tasty pork bone broth. The look is eggy yellow. Fistful of noodles hid cut ginger slices that gave a sharp, pleasant kick to the bowl. ($12).

After eating only sushi at hiko-A-mon for numerous visits, and never being disappointed with the quality, presentation or service, I decided to try a cooked entree. I had the Ahi tuna, medium rare, served over flavorful seasonal veggies, with two stalks of tempura asparagus and brown rice. The meal included an excellent salad, or miso soup, which I'd had before.... More

Love this restaurant~ Fresh and delicious seafood, generous portions, and the staffs are friendly and approachable! Whenever I'm craving Japanese food, I don't go anywhere else in Louisville but here. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the dishes. If you're a fan of sushis and sashimi, their seafood is fresh! If you prefer your food cooked, they... More

My wife and I went here for a Valentines date and had a wonderful experience. I love sushi and sashimi, my wife very basic. I got the hinko-a-mon dinner and she got chicken teriyaki, the food was great and not very busy though I hear it can be!!
