Funmi's Cafe is hidden in the middle of the shopping center, have to look for it. A small place, basic tables and chairs and at first glance looks a bit seedy - a perfect set up for the outstanding meal we were to receive. I have never tasted food like this before, it was all African across the board, only... More

Food not really very good. A disappointment. Portions small. Not a good value. Service is very friendly. Have not returned and probably will not.

My husband, son and I visited Funmi's on a trip to Louisville. My husband grew up in Nigeria and he loved eating the authentic Nigerian food! My son loved his red stew and rice, I had peanut stew with fufu and my husband had goat stew with jollof rice. It is delicious food whether you grew up eating it or... More

We have enjoyed this restaurant many times. Since it is not on our usual path, we often forget it is there. We were reminded this time because we had a Groupon. My husband had the Tanzanian stew and I had the Veggie goat stew. Both were cooked exactly to the spiciness we requested. Service was extremely courteous and timely.

Tried Funmi's place for the first time because they had a groupon deal, then kept coming back. The food is incredible (the peri peri sauce is to die for), and the service is great too. The decor is a little too cafeteria-style for my taste, but the food and service certainly make up for the lack of fancy-ness. The portions... More

We stopped by after going to the State Fair and didn't know what to expect. This is a small storefront restaurant with table service. Each of our party ordered something different, and we were all pleased with each dish. The food was outstanding and the service was so warm and friendly that I can't wait to go back!

Our group of four visited for lunch and ordered four different dishes, all of which were delicious--the chicken skewers, veggie rice, spicy chicken salad, and beans and plantains. They were all delightfully spiced without being overwhelming or too hot; and the amounts were generous. I could have had one of the appetizers as my whole lunch. The chocolate mousse cake... More

I ate here with a group of family and friends. Their food is always very tasty, though one friend said it had been Americanized. A couple of us got the fish dish (don't remember the name, but it had tilapia in it) in different versions and all enjoyed it, even those who had not eaten Nigerian food before.

I LOVE THE FOOD HERE. I've been to this place multiple times and I'm never disappointed by the food. If you've never had Nigerian food before, I recommend you start with the peri-peri chicken. The veggie goat stew is also delicious. But if you're in a rush, then this is probably not the place to go. As far as I... More
