Wonderful smartly sourced highest quality ingredients and authentic menu. Always a fun cocktail to try and good bites to share. Don't miss the lima beans they are some of the best things I have ever eaten.

The food is excellent, the service was great, and they were very understanding of dietary restrictions.

Outstanding atmosphere, presentation and tasted out if this world. One of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. Great job with the local bourbon flight too!

Thanks so much, Amy! We really appreciate you dining with us. That bourbon flight is a brand new edition to our menu that we're excited about since there are so many cool distilleries being built in our neighborhood. Thanks again! ~Anne More

We had a terrific meal here. It reminded us of the fantastic food we had during a trip to Oaxaca several years ago--the flavors truly brought us back there. To start, we ordered the Salbutes of the day (thick, handmade corn tortillas that are simultaneously substantial and somehow still light) which had smoked salmon, mozzarella, shaved cabbage and onions and... Thank you very much for dining with us recently. I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal so much! You're right about the cuitlacoche (always spelled huitlacoche!) - we often call it a Mexican truffle because it's so rich and earthy. It's been a mainstay on our menu for years. We'd love to have you in again, so don't hesitate to... More

Locally popular ethnic restaurant serving south of the border influenced dishes. I had the cochinita pibil, spouse had the rabbit, both delicious. Service was good. Large business group in for dinner kind of distracted the staff, and we noticed our dessert lacked the pomegranate sauce that came out on the same dessert served to the group: I assume the kitchen... Thanks very much for dining with us recently! I'm glad you enjoyed your meal with us. I apologize about the pomegranate sauce. Sometimes we make additional sauces as a garnish for the desserts. If you are ever curious about a sauce or something you see passing by, don't hesitate to ask about it or to try it. We want to... More

The first time I ate there was with friends in 2013 when the world was supposed to end. The Mayan calendar predicted the end so the Mayan Cafe Chef had a menu of what he would eat if the world ended that week. I was blown away with the food and fun expectation of my last supper. Since then I've... More

Thanks so much for dining with us over the last several years! We really appreciate your long-standing support. We had a ton of fun with the December 2012 End of the World/Mayan calendar menu. We actually have something cool like that planned for this coming January as it's our 10 year anniversary. Be on the lookout for a great menu... More

It had been three years since we visited the Mayan Cafe. I am so glad the Garage on Market was closed because the Mayan was still amazingly wonderful. The appetizer of three tostadas were just wonderful. The mojito was mmmmmm

Thanks very much for dining with us again! We appreciate it! The salbutes are really fun - at lunch we offer a choice of 7 different toppings for them and at dinner we make one new topping each day. We'd love to see you again if you're in town! Thanks, Anne More

Really good unusual Mexican food - full of flavour and freshness. Good value and service as well. Both the fish and pork were delicious, yet very different. The scallop appetiser was perhaps a little too spicy as it overpowered the taste of the scallops. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

Hi Collette, Thanks so much for dining with us recently. I'm glad you enjoyed your food! Thanks for the note about the ceviche - we are taking care of that. Our chef, Bruce, is from Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, so his vision is to cook food that is rooted in the Mayan culinary traditions and prepared with Kentucky's local meats and... More
