When we're down Bardstown Road, we enjoy lunching at Café Mimosa -- a longtime Louisville tradition successfully operated by onetime Vietnamese refugees. I suspect they have a lot to offer on their dinner menu, but I'll report on some lunches. For a long time I've been concentrating on some of the usual Chinese lunch items -- Sczechuan beef, Hunan beef,... More
Located in the trendy area of Bardstown Road, the Café Mimosa is easy to get to and good for a decent meal at a fair price. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was served quickly. We had a California roll, which was very good and some sweet and sour pork along with General Tso's chicken.... More
Took a few minutes to be seated even though there were empty tables. We shared a bottle of wine which was very good and four different sushi rolls. My favorite was the Cajun roll which came with an excellent dipping sauce. I also enjoyed the yellow fin tuna roll. The spider roll was a bit thin on the meat. All... More
All of us were happy campers. My clay pot fish was very flavorful and spring rolls were tasty. Service was prompt and follow-up timely. It's good to have such consistent quality in the neighborhood, menu offers Vietnamese choices as well as Chinese. Looking forward to returning again.
Even the waiter seemed to realize that this place offers mediocre (at best) Vietnamese food. Unfortunately, my host did not. It's the only bad Pho I've ev er eaten.
mimosa is a staple around here. It will do the job when you want sushi and your companions don't want a sushi bar. Do not expect out of this world dishes, but it is reliable.
I love sushi and Chinese food and I think it is hard to find good places that serve either. This restaurant also has Vietnamese and Thai choices. Someone suggested I try this place. I looked at the reviews and they seemed to be mixed. I met some friends on a Friday after work. The weather was very nice so we... More
My wife and I dined at this place in the past, and were fairly satisfied. On our recent return visit we found that it had deteriorated in almost every way. From the unkempt waiter who was combative and rude, to the spring rolls fried in extremely old oil, to the tepid chicken fried rice that was very greasy-the experience was... More
Apparently they have changed hands. We come to Louisville every year and have always ordered from Mimosa the first night after a long trip. Was always great food and fast service. NOT THIS YEAR!! The sushi smelled rotten, the curry beef tasted days old, and they did not deliver several of the items that went with the Mu-shu. Won't go... More
