So... I hadn't heard of this place until I was invited here for my father-in-law's birthday lunch. As soon as we walked in the door, we felt as if we had been taken back to pre-Civil War America, not in a good way. The entire waitstaff is African American while the entire dining room of patrons was white. The servers... More

Such a shame. A beautiful setting (19th century building in the center of the historic district), beautifully furnished and decorated. But the food ranged from pretty bad to very good. My wife had a very good side salad, but her main dish was nothing special. I ordered an open face, cold sandwich (the "Georgian"), which delivered on the greens and... More

The food at the Science Hill Inn is amazing if you like great Southern cooking. The Ky Hot Brown is especially delicious. Additionally, the atmosphere is so fantastic. The restaurant is set in an 1800's building which housed one of the earliest residential schools for girls. It is like taking a tour back in time. The white table cloths and... More

Science Hill is the absolute in old South elegance and scrumptious Kentucky fare. The service staff treat you like royalty and the food is on a par with culinary hierarchy. Another place to take out of town/state company to show off the best of Shelbyville and our state.

This is a beautiful place. Wonderful food. I love there chicken. It is my favorite. White table cloths. Lovely table setting. After you eat be sure and tour the court yard, and see the silver vault. And all the rooms that are full of antiques. Lots of shopping. You will be glad you made this your stopping place in Shelbyville.

I have driven past this place many times, wondering what it was. When someone told me about it I was anxious to check it out. My friend and I had recently enjoyed a trip to Irish Acres and the Glitz so I thought this would be another fun girls outing, plus it was her birthday. I called ahead for a... More

White tablecloths; refined, professional servers; menu items from a grandmother's family cookbook. It's an Old South dining experience. Go as a couple or with friends and make a memory. You won't be sorry. Call early for reservations.

Very very good food. EXCELLENT service. I am giving it 5 stars because the food is so good; however, they deserve 5 stars for their service alone.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated and definitely Old South. Every part of our experience was top notch. You should try it. Only open for lunch.
