Unusual menu options varying from seafood platter with gumbo included to a deep fried Cornish hen. Lots of drink choices and a homey rustic atmosphere.

Better share the entrée unless you are really hungry. Very generous portions of excellent catfish. The wait staff was very courteous and helpful with our order and service. All in all a very good dining experience with really good food.

I was in town on business. A friend suggested and I am so glad. Parrain's is excellent! I was there in a Tuesday night and it was packed. Even the local fire department came here for dinner with the truck. Do not let the parking scare you off. The place is huge and it is full of locals. The staff... More

Parrain's may be a but tricky to find for a typical tourist but once you locate it the place is more that worth the trip (and the inevitable wait). Great traditional Louisiana cooking. The gumbo was great and the crawfish etouffee was outstanding. Service was great.

Very nice family seafood restaurant. The food was very good; especially the onion rings. I would go more often if it was located near my home. Yes, I would say that Parrain's (meaning godfather in our native French) is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

I have had both lunch and dinner at Parrain's on many occasions, and the food is always excellent! The fried poboys are to die for, and the grilled oysters are fantastic. The service is always friendly.

It's big, it's loud and family friendly. Lots of seafood. Lots of fried food. They do not take reservations - a real problem on the weekend.

I love it and have never had a bad entree. Appetizers are generally enough for a light lunch and the prices are very reasonable. Sit inside or outside, booths or tables. Everything from raw oysters to catfish topped with crawfish etoufee. They actually have plain Jane food but I always go for seafood. Try it you'll LOVE it. We like... More

I wanted to get in some Southern and Cajun foods while in Baton Rouge, over the typical hotel and bar fare while at a conference downtown. I visited Parrains with other conference goers for lunch all three days. Their bloody marys are terrific and appropriately spicy. They have okra as well as the olives in the skewers. The etouffe is... More
