I LOVE this place. It is in a dark and dingy corner of a location, but don't judge it from the outside (or the inside!) It is delightfully tacky with a small wait staff but it is extraordinarily delicious! The 3-day red sauce is to die for. Every dish is wonderful, but the Veal Parmesan is the best ever. Took... I recently dropped in to Pinetta's, an old restaurant that has been in Baton Rouge for years. It took forever for a waiter to seat the two of us and it wasn't even very busy. The complimentary rolls were finally brought to the table but they were nothing any better than bagged rolls from the grocery store. The Italian Salad... More

This restaurant is small but has very good Italian food. The French onion soup is excellent and so is the Italian salad. Their lasagna is also delicious and mildly spicy. Great red sauce. They keep the lights very low so it is a little bit dark. We enjoyed our meal and being able to talk with each other without a... More

My husband brought me here after I came home from living in Europe for two years. I loved it! It was a perfect little piece of Europe tucked away in Baton Rouge! The food was great and the service was very friendly!

German food, beer, and good place for couples because it's so dark inside. If you are noticed by the staff for seating you'll get to experience really good European entrees. Don't expect service in any way shape or form.

I've been going to this restaurant since he 80's. The sauce they make is the best ever. I highly recommend any dish with heir tomato sauce!

I began coming to Pinetta's back when I was a grad student at LSU (mid-70s). They served delicious food at a price a student could occasionally afford. I graduated and moved away, but upon coming back several years later, moved into the neighborhood and have occasioned Pinetta's ever since. The food changes somewhat when the former owner sold out and... More

My wife first introduced me to Pinettas in 1980 and little has changed since then, including the creaky front door, the dark and dusty inside of the restaurant, and the hundreds of straw chianti bottles and beer steins. Maybe it's dark inside because some of the patrons want to be incognito or perhaps the owners don't want you to see... More

European feel and pretty good food. Like the little skillets, Enjoyed the food wine and atmosphere but with so many choices in BR it does not "stand out"

It's a little hole in the wall, and it's dark in there. But these folks have the best italian food in Baton Rouge. The red sauce is a labor of love and takes days to make, using the original recipe from 50 years ago. Good for lunch or dinner, old world but not too fancy, seriously good food. Most italian...
