Went to City Cafe with relatives for a visit. Bisque was nice, but ordered the Louisiana Crawfish Nachos. They were very disappointing. Wound up with a plate of corn tortilla chips with a handfull of crawfish and a bunch of melted cheese and crawfish sauce. Jalapenos were offered to spice it up, but I don't like peppers so I opted... We stopped here on a quiet Sunday after a trip to the movies. Upon walking in there were not many people inside. After reviewing the menu, I couldn't decide on what to get, so I went with a burger. I wasn't expecting much but wow!!!! Everything that we got was delicious. My burger was placed on a soft sweet roll.... More

This is a place we frequent often. There is a nice variety on the menu and the food is always good. I'm not a chargrilled oyster fan, but like the ones here. We like the fried pickles as an appetizer. Plenty to share. Good salads, seafood and sandwiches. There is a nice bar area too. The staff and owner make... More

Fantastic food and the server Bridgette aka Dorothy from Kansas) was outstanding. The pasta was fresh. The app not overly breaded and the frawfish well cooked. Highly recommended.

The chargrilled oysters were to die for. The best I've had in Baton Rouge. The service was very friendly and it has a great neighborhood atmosphere.

Went out with friends to have casual dinner. The last time I was here was several years ago. The service was fair but very slow. The food was bad(6/8 dishes) except for the appetizers. I would not recommend eating here, and will not be going back for at least several more years.

I've heard a lot about this place and once there was very disappointed. Service was not good, hardly anyone there, menu is too expensive for what you get and for me it did not have a warm and friendly feeling to it.

I absolutely love the charbroiled oysters at City Cafe and have tried them at many other local restaurants. I still have not found any that are better than theirs! We went for an early Sunday lunch and had no problem being seated. My shrimp remoulade salad was good and my husband's catfish dinner was very tasty. The oysters were a... More

City Cafe is very consistent and always crowded. If you go on Friday's during Lent you should get there early for dinner or you will have a long wait, but it will be worth it. My personal favorites are the pepper jelly shrimp and pecan crusted chicken salad.

We called ahead for a table for 7 after church. The manager said they were busy and only seats were outside on patio. He thought it would be comfortable with fans and misters. Well it was unbearably hot . When I informed he he quickly moved us inside to a back cool room and our waitress went above and beyond... More
