Great fried seafood, gumbos, potato salad. Great place for lunch. Homemade pies are delicious. Lots of locals eat here but also great stop for tourists.

Great food at a great price and fantastic taste. Went here for lunch one day and the food was simply great with a good traditional setting and service. Highly recommend stopping in by for lunch.

From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like family! Everything is made fresh to eat, the desserts are all homemade! The atmosphere alone is so welcoming. The chicken and sausage gumbo is to die for! The peanut butter pie is sinful!! This is hands down Houma's finest. The southern hospitality is like no other!

The male waiter was rude. The food was bland and it was $75 for 3 adults and 2 children to eat lunch. Will never eat there again.

Business in Houma is slow, but at A-bears the catfish and catfish A-bear's is still as delicious as ever. It is normally server with potato salad, green beans or white beans and rice.. It's hard to save room for some home made pie, but if you haven't tried them you should on your next trip to A-bear's.

May 10, 2016, Great meal!!, I was told this is the oldest family owned restaurant in Houma. They only serve lunch M-Thursday. I had the special, seafood soup( shrimp, crab, oyster) over rice $8.95. My wife had her fried Shrimp( the only thing she ever orders ). The soup over rice was very good, it had some of the best... More

It's hard to find a better lunch than "Catfish Heberts", its fried catfish with a delicious crab/butter mixture poured over the filets. Have been eating it most Wednesdays for the past 20 plus year. It seems to get better each and every time I eat it. If you haven't tried it your missing a real treat!

We enjoy eating here. The prices are a tad high, but the food is great. My boys like to go there on Fridays because of the music. My husband likes the hamburger stakes and the all you can eat catfish is tasty.

They have odd-ball hours, but if you can catch them when they are open Abear's is my pick for the best Cajun food in town. Try to get there early if you want to get a table. Do not underestimate the potato salad or the peanut butter pie-- both are home made and fantastic. Lots of local business is discussed... More
