I've eaten at Deanie's every time I've been in the New Orleans area and bragged to people about their food and service, but this time my experience was terrible and I will never spend another dollar in this establishment again. If I could give them no star I would. First, when we were seated by the server we were brought... More

When we drove up, I was kind of unsure as to what to expect inside. We were pleasantly surprised and was worth going to. The beer was cold, the crawfish were hot and everthing else we had was spectacular! It is one of those "Must eat at" kind of places.

This place was a winner everything was good and I loved those spicy onion rings. I only got the half platter and couldn't finish it. Great choice

I love the hot potatoes that provide instead of bread. Plenty of great seafood for a reasonable price. Glad to see they haven't lost anything since Hurricane Katrina blew us out of town.

Most tourists eat in or near the French Quarter while visiting New Orleans. But you should give Deanies a try in Bucktown near Lake Pontchartrain. I started with a gumbo (soup)...excellent. Then I had the trifecta - boiled shrimp boiled crawfish and a large crab. All the seafood is fresh, local catch. The shrimp was outstanding with just the right... More

Dined here for Dinner. The Oyster Po-Folk Sandwhich was great. Hostess was personable and friendly. The fried platter had plenty of food. Being from the Chesapeake Bay Area. I have eaten plenty of stuffed crab entrees. I would pass on their Crab Stuffed Shrimp. It was bready and not much Crab. Overall a good dining experience.

The best thing about Deanie's is that it is reliable and consistent. Their fried seafood is always good, and while their BBQ shrimp is good, the portion has dramatically changed over the years. It used to be served in a large cast iron skillet with so many shrimp I usually took half to go. Now it's barely more than an... More

We came here our first night in town. I heard the gumbo was the best so I had to try it. I got the seafood one and I enjoyed it. Just a bit of spice at the end to warm you up. Nice flavor though. I ordered the 1/2 plate of fried seafood and it was gigantic. I easily had... More

Delicious seafood platter. Highly recommend. It gets a little busy. Might have to wait for a table but completely worth it. Best fried seafood ever!

Always reliable but generally a long wait. I like that you can get boiled seafood there, too.I like the one in Bucktown better than the one in the Quarter, but others like the Quarter because it is in a tourist section and it is easy to take out of towners there.

Deanie's Seafood is loved by locals as one of the "Best Seafood Restaurants in New Orleans" (Gambit Weekly, Times Picayune), "Best Place for Crawfish" and the favorite place for fresh Louisiana seafood prepared in our signature Creole seasonings. For over 50 years Deanie's has been serving huge portions of the best boiled, broiled and fried seafood. Its two restaurants in Bucktown and the French Quarter earned a Zagat food and service rating of "very good to excellent," and its French Quarter private dining spaces are perfect for special events, rehearsal dinner and weddings.
