The seafood is always delicious and their house salad and dressing is very unique. Dined there for birthday and ordered my first steak ever from there and it was cooked to perfection! Not a fancy place at all but the food and drinks are divine! The waiters are very friendly.

I have to visit Mohawk every time I visit Monroe to get raw oysters. They are the best! This time I also got a burger which was a very pleasant surprise. It was delicious. I love this place! Even though it doesn't look like much everything is authentic and always a great experience.

Had the fried oysters enough portion for 2 people, if you like fried seafood give it a shot. But it is a dump!

Was excited to eat here and walked in and from the first second the waiter acted like he was to busy to deal with us. Sat down and got drinks and then ordered. Got our food and our waiter didn't come back to the table at all. Food was ok quality and portions were good but not kid friendly menu.

The food and services were great. We had oysters on the half shell and gumbo. I was a little thrown off of the staff dress attire being set back into slave/servant looking dress code. Even when our check was presented to us by a white lady and the whole transaction handled by her...she never waited on us. I hope our... More

I love to come here there food is always good at lunch and dinner. I enjoy the fresh raw oysters, have always received good service but the last five vists I have had poor, slow service. I do not what is going on but when I go out to eat I do not want it to be a 3 hour... More

Yes it may need renovations, and the bathroom is one step from the parking lot, but this place knows how to do seafood. The oysters are the best around anywhere! Creamy and smooth. This past trip I had the shrimp Po Boy and it did not disappoint! Service is also excellent. Ive eaten here on trips south for 10 years.... More

Although I had heard of this place and driven by it many times on business trips I finally had a business lunch here and the food and service were quite good. Very dark inside (ok, so it is a tavern), apparently a long time Monroe watering hole. Would definitely go back.

Though its old and outdated, the food is still delicious. We eat here at least monthly. Soooo good. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed
