First the good... The atmosphere is excellent. Louisiana backcountry fish shack. The reception staff are friendly, easy going, and even on a busy night with a party of 20 ahead of us, they managed to get us in quickly. The waitress was excellent and very attentive (again) even on a very busy weekend night. However, if my name included the... More

The food here, as many others have stated - is excellent. Whether you want just oysters, steak, or seafood - all is cooked to order and cooked well. I do agree with other reviewers that the amount of space available is limited and somewhat crowded - but this part of the experience of eating at a very established place in... More

Stopped here last night for dinner after leaving the customer location. Was not into oysters but they did have a pretty good shrimp dinner. Place is very load to the point it makes the dining experience less than enjoyable, even in the outside eating area. Tables are barely big enough for two and they put four at them. Food was... More

I read all these other reviews and if I had been chosing a restaurant, i would have passed. But I didn't. I went to the oyster bar and the food, service, ambiance and patrons were excellent as usual. Kudos

The "chargrilled" oysters were terrible. And anything but chargrilled. They were barely half cooked. Lacked totally in flavor. The only reason they get three stars is the mahi mahi I ordered was acceptable. I had eaten here a few times before....always thought it was ok. Even had a version of the oysters before...the Angels, I believe. At the time, those... More

The food was ok and I kinda had a feeling they only have regular customers and that's why they are still open. I wasn't amazed by anything really, the waitress was nice though, maybe their oysters are good I don't know cause I don't eat them .

When I was a kid there was no comparison between the seafood you could get in south Louisiana (closer to the Gulf of Mexico) and north Louisiana. Seafood was largely an afterthought among restaurants in Shreveport unless you went to a place like Abe's where they made routine runs to the gulf. Elsewhere, the boiled seafood was pretty much non-existent... More

The used to be the perfect spot for dinner. Now it's over crowded, the service is terrible, food quality has gone downhill & prices have gone up!!

Atmosphere is nice and the chips and hot sauce were great. Can't say as much for the other food we had. My "Angels" as they are listed on the menu were bacon wrapped mesquite grilled oysters. They were mostly bacon. I unwrapped one and had a hard time locating a very small piece of oyster and got a shell in... More

Good food and good service coupled with a cajun/gulf coast atmosphere. For my lunchtime visit, there was no wait, although the dining area was full. Obviously a place with a loyal following. Go ahead and give it a chance, I think you will have a pleasant experience.
