We have visited the Boathouse bistro on a couple of occasions so wanted to try the actual Boathouse restaurant. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing. It was a special offer purchased on Itison and I think that the restaurant was full of people on the same offer so perhaps the service and quality of the food was not as good as... More

Cold but clear day for a first visit to this venue. Firstly, venture downstairs and you are struck by the outstanding view. The vista is of the rail bridge and the majestic River Forth, this is probably one of the best restaurant views in lowland Scotland, fantastic! The food's not bad either. I can strongly recommend the salt squid, lightly... More

Looking for a small restaurant with great food - this is the place. Went here after looking on line for a fish restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was stunning. Simple food cooked so well and served with a smile. The staff could not do enough to ensure that we had everything we wanted. Thank you for a lovely... More

Had a lovely meal here 2/3 months ago with my girlfriend so when we spotted a discount deal we were only too happy to take it up....aware that it would be a slightly more restricted menu than diners who were paying full price on the same night. 3 Course meal was good with portion sizes about right as was the... We first went to the Boathouse with friends for dinner we had a set menu of either Pate or Mussel Chowder to start, Duck Confit or Pan Fried Coly to finish there was a Chocolate Parfait or Profiteroles everything on that menu was tried by someone in the party and each dish was terrific the service was good with the... I've visited the Boathouse several times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This visit, as part of a group of four, confirmed that assessment. I enjoyed a haggis starter and fish and chips. Other also enjoyed the crab starter, steak, and prawn stir-fry. As eve, the view was marvellous.
