This is a small restaurant that overlooks the river. Depending on the time of year, there are tourists and lots of locals. If you get there at peak times, you will have to wait outside. It's worth it though because the food is tremendous! They have the biggest and best lobster rolls I've ever had (and I grew up in... More

Eagles Nest is a very small restaurant that is not much to look at, but if what you want is good food and large portions, then you'll be happy you stopped here. It is not at all fancy; we don't think they are interested in awards for decor. We had fish chowder that was some of the best we've ever... More

Small road side diner that is best known for their lobster rolls (best I've found in Maine so far), fried or broiled scallops, shrimp, or haddock. Chowder was good and chunky. Not sure if they were home cut but the french fries and onion rings were very good. Portions are very generous. 12 ounce hamburgers and the lobster roll was... More

After we ordered our food and were waiting, we looked around and unfortunately we saw dirt and grime everywhere. The food was ok, but we were worried about the cleanliness so we would never go back.

We met another couple here on a rainy Friday on the way to Great Pond Outdoor Activity Center, Small diner on the Penobscot River. Nice view but small seating area with no frills, booths and small counter. Seafood themed that was nicely priced, tasted good, and large quantities! My wife had Fish Burger (Fried Haddock Sandwich) that could have fed... More

Had a business dinner (lunch to you city folk) with a colleague from Hawaii. She had the lobster roll and I the pot roast with corn, green beans and pecan pie. They serve Pepsi product drinks in a small road side cafe. It's not a white table cloth kinda place with hundreds of seats. About four booths, twelve chairs at... More

Found this on TripAdvisor. Very small, casual place with excellent lobster rolls. The other food we saw go by looked very good also. We were there early on a Sunday night and the place filled up very quickly. Not a lot of seating so we were glad to be early. It is obviously very popular, and we could see why.... More

I can check it off my Bucket list again. It's been a while & I was a little worried that this gem may have slid into the Penobscot River. It hasn't - a friend told me I should get the fisherman's platter, but it seemed like it would feed 4-5 people. I settled for the lobster roll - it was... More

Stopped on our way home from Canada.Ordered the lobster roll with fries. Wow! It was the biggest and most delicious lobster roll that we have ever had! Fries were good but the cole slaw was great! We ate at the boat ramp on a picnic table a few minutes down the road. Restaurant was very crowded and we had our... More

I like the Eagle's Nest. Definitely nothing fancy but the haddock is so good! They also know how to treat a scallop. While the lobster roll is a bit pricier than other places, it's definitely worth it.
