Nice atmosphere and owners are all family. The food is good not excellent. It is popular with the tourists who come to town.

OK--I'm really surprised at a lot of the negative reviews I've read, because truthfully--I've cooked in some pretty nice joints, feel like I know a thing or two about food--what's good, what's not, how to make food taste really yummy and whatnot. Is the place a little cramped? Yes. Is it noisy? Yes. It's always full--that should tell you something.... More

After having eaten at this local place a few more times, I have found much to enjoy there. I have not enjoyed the salmon, but other choices have been good, including oysters, scallops clams, and other seafood.

just about every Friday my husband and I like to go out for a haddock sandwich and a beer...we have our favorite places but thought we would venture out and try EIders. The food was average at best, chowder very good and the Irish cupcake was delicious! The best part of the lunch-the waitstaff and the cupcake! the worst part... More

Right in downtown Damariscotta which is a quintessential beautiful Downeast Maine town, KEP is a cozy pub tucked just off Main Street with multiple floors/areas...downstairs bar & tables, upstairs seating + a small raw bar upstairs as well. Its a popular spot for shoppers and tourists. Off season is best to ensure no wait and good table.

King Eider's is a fun pub. The downstairs bar is beautiful and a perfect place to eat. The bartenders are very friendly. A good offering of local brews on tap. There is entertainment in the bar once a week. Local Damariscotta River oysters are a must! The crab cakes are very good. They make a good hamburger as well. There... More

We are just home from another wonderful meal at King Eider's Pub! There is music in the pub from 1PM on Sunday's so it is busy and reservations are a good idea. My husband had trouble deciding but finally chose the Steak and Ale Pie. This delicious entree is topped with a flaky short crust and it is a repeat... More

Entrees were mediocre and pretty over-priced. Desserts were very disappointing (and expensive for obviously being store-bought/frozen.) The "signature" dessert, an Irish stout/whiskey cupcake, was very dry and old-tasting. Maybe an okay place for a beer, but wouldn't recommend beyond that.

We usually eat at Salt Bay Cafe or Best Thai when in Damariscotta, but decided to try some place different. This would not be a place that is handicap accessible. I ordered a Harvest Salad. It sounded good--spinach, almonds, dried cranberries, and a side of dressing. I was so surprised when this dinner priced salad came out on a very... More

I had been to King Eider's several times, and had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I'd only ever been for lunch, and often get the Crystal from Bristol or Reuben sandwich. When a friend from out of town called and wanted to meet for dinner I suggested KEP. Unfortunately, it wasn't the amazing dining experience I. Dinner menu lacked... More
