I went to the pub for lunch and to watch a rugby match. Food was decent and beer was cold. The rugby matches were well watched by a group of locals. Nice place to visit

The Old Barn at Glooston, nestling in the rolling countryside of the Welland Valley near Market Harborough is quite hard to find but well worth the effort. The cosy restaurant serves very good quality steaks sourced to a local butcher with generous sized ribeye, rump and sirloin. If you fancy something more exotic the Asian chef prepares authentic curries. The... More

We visited for a quiet couple of drinks, were shocked at the transformation as soon as we walked in, all the character has been removed, it was a traditional, cosy country pub full of character but alas no more. Also, the bar has been moved which hindered ordering a drink from the bar greatly. It will be interesting to see... More

Dear Customer, Sorry about this, we have a child friendly, dog friendly, cycle and walker friendly approach in the bar and sometimes that causes these issues, it's a small village and the locals can sometimes forget it's not a private pub just for them but they are also very loyal customers. Thanks for your comments on the beer and wine,... More

The place is basically a building site, I think that they should have closed the pub for a few weeks and got the work done. I ordered a pint of London Pride then Doom Bar, neither were satisfactory. We then moved on to the restaurant, a £25 bottle of Cotes du Rhone was served cold. My meat pie was quite... More

Dear valued customer, you are correct it was a building site, this is made clear by the sign on the front door, as we have renovated the bar area, not the resteraunt where you ate in peace by the fire. The renovations will be completed by this Friday. We found your comments interesting and would like to point out that... More

A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch with excellent service & superb food. HIGHLY recommended! Although undergoing a bit of refurbishment we couldn't have been looked after better & will definitely be returning.

Stopped in for lunch mid week. All starters & puddings £2.50 and mains £5.00 We both had the 6oz steak. Perfectly cooked with lovely fresh veges. Pudding for me was house made fruit crumble and my husband had the jam roll poly. Both were great. We left very satisfied. Yes, the pub is undergoing refurbishment but this didn't affect our... I hope they give the pub's restaurant a refurb; it needs it desperately. The bar area was small and well-stocked with young farmers. Sunday lunch was ok, the beef (sirloin cut) was pink and excellent, but let down by underwhelming veggies and 'are you sure you're not related to Aunt Bessie's' Yorkshire pud. £12.50 for the main course. I'd think... More

Food was very good, staff very friendly and helpful. Complimentary limoncello shot afterwards was a nice touch. Happy to eat there again.

I took my dad for lunch. We did not book and were told we could only have the bar menu. There were only about 4 choices. The meals were served on something a little larger than a teaplate. My dad had pie and chips. He could not cut the pastry. It looked like a ready made pie cut in half.... More

Hi, Really sorry for that experience, we only took over a few weeks ago and only secured a chef last week. Our temporary bar menu was simply so people could have something while we were searching for a new chef. If you would like to return we will give you a full refund for that day. We now offer full...
