The decor is cozy. Nice lighting both through all the windows during the day and via indirect lighting after dark. Subdued atmosphere. Nice bar. Not too big. Staff very friendly. The menu selections are fabulous. There were five in our party and tastes ranged from the very simple (burger) to the more adventurous (lobster scampi). Something for everyone. All locally... More

I now understand why I kept seeing this small storefront restaurant on the Main Street of Kennebunk, ME so frequently recommended. We had reservations but as it were didn't need them. It was a rainy night and the place was empty. We were warmly greeted and encouraged to select our own seat. The decor is rather stunning. The tables and chairs... More

Great bar with interesting drinks. All dishes made with local ingedients. Roasted squash with beans and carrots on puréed celery is tremendous. Not to mention the homemade pasta! Smaller dining area, intimate ambiance. Desserts are fantastic if you've got room. Don't pass this up in Kennebunk!

This is one of the few places to dine in downtown Kennebunk. The menu has changed for the better, and although there are not many items to choose from the quality of the food and service are quite good. The space is dimly lit which some may find intimate, but we needed some light to adequately review the menu. We... More

Original owner and chef has seemed to turn over the kitchen to a younger less experienced chef. Not always a bad thing but just not living up to dishes that wow you. Some traditional dishes remain but newer ones lack the talent and flavorful majic of original chef. Dishes look interesting in print but lack the expectation with final presentation.... More

Food is very good, but very pricey! Servings are very minimal for the price you pay. Service was slow but apologetic for being so. Drinks were good! I wouldn't go for dinner again just too expensive and not enough food. I would go for drinks, nice atmosphere!

When we read the reviews of 50Local, it seemed like the perfect place for a family celebration. We were off to a good start-- nice wines, excellent bread baskets with olive oil... but we needed flashlight apps to read the menu, there was a very long wait for food (we're OK with slow food, but this was really slow) and... Tired of going to the same old places in Portland, we decided to try 50 Local in Kennebunk and what a great find as from start to finish the food was delicious. It started with the homemade bread to the wonderful selection of cheese (we tried 3 of 6 - all tasty) , the statler chicken, the lobster scampi and... More

A group of friends and I had a wonderful dinner tonight at 50 Local. The restaurant was recently renovated- it is comfortable, warm and inviting. Love the farmhouse chairs and tables. Dinner was awesome: 3 of us enjoyed fish- was fresh and delicious. My sister had the best burger in the Kennebunks. The chocolate dessert and beignets were great finish... More

Once we found it we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is inside an office building and the signage outside is not great. The interior was really cute but honestly it was quite hard to see without the flashlight on my phone to illuminate the menu. The waiter we had was really personable and knowledgeable. The gnocci was liked but not... More
