Yes, it’s expensive. But it’s also pretty good! My husband wanted to try clam strips on the Maine coast. He got the lunchbox. The clam strips were plentiful, the fries were perfectly cooked, and the slaw was great. I split a pint of chicken strips...and fries with a friend and we loved both. 4yo had a hot dog and it’s the only thing she’s eaten all of on our vacation, so it must have been good. We all shared a blueberry hand pie that ended up being the perfect finish.More

Wonderful place to blow away $90 on two tiny lobster rolls. Nothing out of this world but we decided to give it a try. First time deal only. Maine the capital of lobsters, where lobsters cost more here than anywhere else. Two much money for...nothing out of the ordinary .More

Great food, however busy due to a tour that was there. Worth the wait though, for the Lobstah Rolls!

This is a local clam shack that has to be good because there is always a line to order. We had 1/2 pint of fried clams and a small soda. There is outside seating available; some overlook the water. Neat spot if you aren't fussy...about eating outside. The bill with tip was $0.More

The ultimate tourist trap. We went out of our way to visit this well known spot. I wish I had read some of the reviews. Check out the pictures of the lobster roll and you will see a small hamburger bun with lobster on it,...not the 6 to 8 inched French roll bun you see in most pictures. It was $30. We had a lobster roll in Gloucester the day before for $40. It had at least 4 times the amount of lobster pilled high. The quality was average.More

Pretty good lobster roll (actually a lobster bun), otherwise typical fare and unexciting counter-order-with-outside-seating seafood stop in tourist-infested Kennebunk. Prices average to high. Deserving of about 3 1/2 stars, not worth a special trip.

We stopped for a late lunch, it was full when got there , end of lunch rush. They had a little trouble with cash register. Food for the 6 of us was good, highlight was clam strips. Calamari and haddock were also good. We had...to contend with a little rain but there outdoor seating had canopies.More

Ordered haddock sandwich and got 4 nuggets that you couldn’t eat as a sandwich. Only place on whole trip doesn’t give you fries with a sandwich?? Way, way overrated. I have had hundreds of fish sandwiches and never one like this. Ugh. Wife’s lobster was...ok. Spend your money elsewhereMore

Clam Shack wasn't on our list for this trip but one of our destinations was closed and we knew we'd do well here and we were right. Lobster meat on a hamburger bun is weird but it works. Lots of tail meat and plenty of...place to sit down. Clean indoor restroom is appreciated, too!More

In the past (before the pandemic), this place supposedly won an award for the best lobster roll in America! If that was, it NO longer is... I bought a lobster roll lunch box (with French fries & coleslaw) for around $35 USD and I was...VERY disappointed. For $48 CDN, the French fries & coleslaw were good but, the small round lobster roll was SO plain, it tasted just OK with the melted butter. I was expecting a special homemade sauce like mayo, sour cream, celery, dill, lettuce, etc… but NOPE! So, if you eat here, I suggest you choose something else on their menu!!More

I ordered a scallop lunch box for $35 and it was the worst food I have ever had. The scallops were so overcooked, yet they were not even hot. The french fries were so bad you could not eat them. I am sure both the...scallops and fries were sitting there for a long time before they were sold to us. The tartar sauce and cole slaw were hotter than the food. I got so sick that night. Worst experience ever! Stay Away!More

The food here was excellent. Lobster roll was great, the steamers were so fresh (a little pricy), clam strips were awesome, the fries were good, and the onion rings were hands down the best I have ever had. The location is great, with mostly outdoor...seating. Great view. It’s busy, but the line moves and the service is pretty quick. There are people going around cleaning the tables, which you never see in outdoor dining where you seat yourself. Clean and neat. I was really impressed and will definitely be back. I highly recommend.More

I follow Gale Simmons from Top Chef and she ate here so I knew it had to be good! It was my favorite place in Maine. My husband and I wanted good food and a place to dry from battling rain on the motorcycle. I...love how you can see the prep with the open kitchen. The food truck was fast and we got our food right away. We ordered the clam chowder. It was so rich and delicious with big chunks of clam. We were hesitant about the lobster roll being too small, but it packs a big punch. You have to get both butter and mayo! The bread was nicely toasted and the sandwich had huge chunks of Iobster. The best way! We ended with a blueberry hand pie. I could have had another lobster roll and pie. This is a must eat and I can’t wait to come back!More

Tourist trap! The food is overpriced and underwhelming. It was $32 for a lobster roll with no sides. Even though it was supposed to have butter and mayo, it was dry and tasteless. It didn’t even look like real lobster, more like langostinos which is...a cheaper form of lobster. My friend had the clams and they weren’t very good either. It wasn’t worth the price for a skimpy tasteless meal, that they expect a tip for taking an order, not waiting on tables or giving you a decent meal. What you are paying for is the prime location and view. Maine is know for lobster, but I have yet to have a good lobster roll in that state. I’ve had better lobster rolls in Mass.More
