Wonderful and authentic Greek food. Small and cozy restaurant with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. This restaurant is very pleasant with a varied and authentic menu and a great wine offering.

Really good authentic Greek dishes. The lamb is outstanding. It is a small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere that lends itself to small groups and couples. Reservations are definitely a good idea. Well worth a try for anyone who enjoys the Mediterranean cuisine. Reasonable wine...More

Was very pleased our delightful waitress (Sophia?) helped us with the menu though description under the names was pretty good. The lamb chops - incredible, the chicken amazing. I think the hardest choices were in the wine menu - not many of us, I suspect,...More

Friends suggested it and we're glad they did. Reminded us of traveling in Greece many years ago - it is that authentic. Including a nice house white wine called Mas Chofilero from Domaine Spiropoulos. Of course the moussaka and baklava were great but so were...More

We had a perfect evening at Emilitsa. The decor is warm and beautiful, the staff professional and friendly and every bite of food was delicious. We've always eaten at seafood restaurants when we've come to Portland but now one dinner will always include this place....More

We were in Portland overnight on our way further north in Maine. Looking at the restaurant reviews we decided on Emilitsa. It was terrific. It is a very small and hopping spot in the heart of Portland. We had a reservation and were seated promptly....More

There aren't enough superlatives to describe how wonderful this restaurant is. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world that have been run by the best in the business; Batali, Flay, Pierre-White, Bayless, Keller, Waters, etc., and this little place in...More

We have been to Emilitsa 3 times in the past year and have found that from the point of view of food, service, and ambience, it is hands down the best restaurant in the city (and that's saying a lot given how many excellent restaurants...More

I’ve been there recently for dinner. The restaurant is definitely not cheap but worth to go there in any case. The food was absolutely gorgeous. A true recommendation.

Emilitsa is a Greek restaurant located in the arts district of Portland, Maine and boasts a contemporary and casual atmosphere. Emilitsa brings a wide array of Mezethes (small plates), Megala Piata (large plates), and pristinely fresh seafood to the seacoast area. We honor the breadth of traditional cuisine from all regions of Greece. We prepare our Greek dishes with as many local, fresh, organic and natural ingredients as are available to us. We also accommodate those with food allergies.
