We had a fantastic time when we visited Portland and made sure to go a second time to Taco Escobar. It is busy and a small restaurant and you may have to wait for a table but it is worth it! Large selection of choices. And great margaritas!

Taco Escobarr is a fun place if you're looking for friendly and tasty Mexican. There's a bit of a whimsy vibe, from the simple, understated menu to the holiday lights hanging from the ceiling. I had the pozole which is a hearty stew with pork, little corn meal droplettes and broth that was welcome on a cold December night, and... More

Coming from Texas I am not sure any Mexican food in Maine will ever measure up, but this is was a welcome meal after going so long without. I will definitely visit again when I return.

My daughter suggested this restaurant based on a friend's experience. The menu was very simple, but many of the dishes had choice of filling and sauce, which made for probably dozens of different combinations. Our group all ordered enchiladas, but with different fillings and sauces. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the red sauce which was a little spicier... More

I ordered 2 soft tacos - one was fish and other Bistec (beef with poblano and garlic) at $4 each. Bistec had very little flavor (could not taste garlic or poblano at all) and first bite of fish was all crunchy batter. I looked into the remaining fish and it was dried out and very little of it (these tacos... More

This restaurant is a great place to eat if you don't feel like fast food. Well located, lots of options so you can build your own taco/burrito.

I will start with the food. I had a fried avocado taco. Yeah, it was amazing. Getting there was a little rugged, though. We were told the wait for a table would be 25 minutes - so we ordered drinks and stood next to the door. For an hour. It was nice that we were given the option to order... More

Went here with a few friends last night, and let me tell you something. I'd rather deal with Pablo Escobar, than Taco Escobar. If I had a nickel for every moment we spent on the toilet I'd be as rich as the Columbian drug cartel. We are dairy free, and for this reason, asked for no cheese in the meal.... More

We were in Portland for a long couples weekend with our friends. While my husband was getting tattooed my friends and I did a mini bar tour and stumbled across Taco Escabarr. What a find! The place is cozy, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The drinks were cold and the food was unbelievable! The décor was funky and... More
