This is a well known and popular seafood restaurant. I ordered two of their famous lobster roll in brown butter as they are small. I wasn't impressed as I had better lobster rolls in Bar Harbor.

Since I've been in Maine for a few weeks, the lobster roll that I had was the most inventive—brown butter on a steamed roll, kind of like a Chinese bao bun. These were plenty for three meals. Fish Sammy was also alright.
When I returned to Portland, I knew I needed to return to Eventide. It did not disappoint. This place is the best! The lobster rolls are delightful.
My wife and I stopped into Eventide oyster for a pre-dinner cocktail on a recent Friday evening. Service from the host and bar team was exceptional. The cocktails were creative, the beers were super cold, and the scallop waffle was out of this world. We...gambled and took the bartenders recommendation, and definitely didn’t regret it. Check out the photo.More
After doing extensive research, we had to try the oysters and the brown butter lobster rolls. The oysters are the star. I wish I could have said the same about the lobster roll. It has a soft base like a bao bun which I enjoyed....The lobster meat had a definitive bitter taste and was over cooked. My fellow trip advisers save your dollars and find other places to eat.More
We were looking for oysters on our last night in Portland and this was the place to go. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and were patient and helpful with two people who don't know the first thing about oysters. They have a large menu...offering a variety of oysters from all over, but it may as well have been in Portuguese to us, so our waitress guided us through it and we had a dozen delicious oysters. The other food we had after that was... less impressive. In fact, we didn't really care for any other food we had there, which was sides, an entree, then dessert. The atmosphere was nice, we liked the staff, but you go here for oysters.More
Cruise ship season, we left the first day when quoted an hour wait ( you can’t get reservations) but returned the next day and waited 30 minutes. Hostess very professional and courteous. Seated at uncomfortable, drafty bar stools. Counter service excellent. Oysters excellent. Lobster roll...gummy, soggy bread with chewy lobster. Great wine by-the-glass. Over-hyped.More
Best oysters I believe I’ve ever ate!! We are from the gulf coast so I believe we have a good understanding of what oysters should be an how they should taste, they offer a large variety of excellent oysters, Lobster Roll was good an the...clam bake delicious. Some of the best food we had while visiting Maine. Serves was okay but they where very busy so it was acceptable, not as friendly as some of the other places we ate at but again they where very busy.More
We’re from the uk, and tasting the tuna crudo here has ruined my life - I need this place around the corner so I can have it every single day! Really cool place, about a 20 minute wait, really friendly nice staff, wine was gorgeous.
Oysters especially Mere Point were excellent. Home made roll with with brown butter lobster roll also excellent. Sat on patio with dogs very nice experience. Prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants in area.
Pros: Excellent Lobster Roll in Browned Butter. Delicious. Nice beer choices. Decent selection of Oysters. Cons: The Lobster Stew is really a cup of soup. One small claw cut in thirds with three tiny carrot squares and a small bit of Mushroom. Chicken is almost...an afterthought in the chicken sandwich.More
Had to wait over 1.5 hours on a Monday night. There was no room to wait at the bar so we had to go across the street to another establishment to wait. The menu was very small; the oysters were interesting (choices) and very tasty...... but outside of that, it was just a bunch of chowders and rolls / sandwiches. I did not think this place was worth all the hype.More
Stopped in here right at opening at 11AM on Monday, good thing we did as it was full within 20 minutes. Got a nice curbside table and ordered the brown butter lobster roll, a crab roll, and the pickled vegetable salad. All were excellent and...the Bao buns they use for the sandwiches were unique and tasty. Neither roll was very big and the prices reflect that.More
We’ve been here a few times, and always have a great experience. The oysters are beyond fresh and delicious. Tuna crudo is yummy, too. Great selection of wine, beer and cocktails. Love the vibe and hospitality!
The food quality is quite good, but $19 for 2 oz of crab salad on a single slice of bread is really high. The two of us spent over $100 on food alone and did not feel ful. When we get the bill, we were...surprised to see this restaurant charged 5% kitchen adminsitration fee so the kitchen staff will receive a TIP too, With the high price Eventide charges, the owner should pay the kitchen staff a fair wage and the customer should not be compelled to pay!More
