After sampling lobster rolls throughout Portland, J's came up short. It was cold lobster with absolutely no seasoning on a cold hot dog roll , served with a packet of no name mayo on the side. Very disappointed given all the other seafood places in town. And there is no apparent system for seating diners in a crowded and small... More

This place isn't the prettiest inside but it is where all the locals come for food. I had the lobster and chowder and it was good! Service was great and the prices were decent. Definitely a little run down inside but the food was good.

Stopped in at the recommendation of some locals. We were not disappointed. The lobster was great and the service was excellent. Get there early or be prepared to wait. The place is small and it is popular but the food is worth it.

Don't go to Portland without checking out J's. Food and drinks are great. Staff is spectacular! I love the stuffed mushrooms and my honey loves the steamers. Say nothing about the Manhattans!!

Ok, this was our first stop on a long weekend of enjoying Portland. Perfect way to kick of weekend. Its a crowded hole in the wall, with friendly staff and locals, tiny tables where you bump the party next to you and then strike up a conversation with them. A view of the bay from some seats. Its loud, great... More

Seems like a spot for locals. It's tiny, and we waited about 20 minutes on a Friday afternoon. By the time we left, there was a long wait. Being Portland, they had a great beer election. The mussels, steamers and shrimp cocktail were all fabulous. It's definitely worth a visit.

We stopped here on a Saturday night based on a recommendation from a local couple. We could not get over the overpowering smell. Not a fishy smell. But a sour bad smell. We left

Definitely worth the wait and you will have one. But definitely wait for your table, you will not regret it!! The service and food was so unbelievably good. Our hostess, Dasha was so sweet and helpful, as we did have a little one with us. The lobster stew and lobster dinner were fabulous, absolutely mouth watering. The only thing that... More

This was recommended to me by the hotel desk clerk. The place was jammed, on a Thursday night! The food was expensive but delicious. Well worth the price. Parking is kind of a nightmare, so I parked in the lot next door. Made it much easier. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

River Oysters were wonderful. Our waitress very knowledgeable with regard to types of oysters. Clam chowder was very good. Lobster roll expensive for the amount of lobster in roll. Salad not good. This place is good for a drink and a quick bite for lunch or snack but not somewhere you would go for a sit down dinner.
