I really like Ri Ra....I ate in the pub. The bartender was ok she was cute but language was like that of a sailor and she was busy flirting with some guy....BUT...it was a great meal, very good food and she was fine after the dude left. Never had a bad meal here. Next time I will def. eat upstairs... More

We enjoyed dinner here, great fish and chips, shepherds pie and other delights. Definitely will go back again.

From the outside the restaurant appears much smaller than it is. We were seated upstairs with a nice waterfront view and the dining room was large and comfortable. There is an elevator for those with mobility needs. I found the drinks to be a little strong actually but my wife happily finished hers and mine. The seafood chowder was excellent... More

Many moons ago, as we were walking through Portland on vacation and getting hungry, we were at a crossroads. We could turn right and go to the more touritsty places. I glanced left and saw a group of lobstermen still in full gear heading into a little pub. I turned to my husband and said, "I don't know about you,... More

Stopped by for Sunday Brunch during a recent trip to Portland. I had the Irish Benedict, and it was delicious. Despite the fact the restaurant had a group of 17 seated in the upstairs dining room, our server was very friendly and efficient.

We heard about this place when looking for live music one night and were a bit turned off by the unfriendly "bouncers" asking for ID at the door. Very rude and condescending. They likely ruined our experience because it didn't get any better after that. We left pretty soon after arriving. A waste of 20 minutes.

Stopped in for a bite and a brew on a drizzly day in the port. A few locals at the bar, it took a while for us to get service, although we were the only ones at a table. When we were served, our waitress was very nice and apologetic telling us that she was doing dishes upstairs. We ordered... More

They must be doing renovations because we walked in and it looked closed however there is no sign of life or a sign to tell us what is going on. fortunately our party had already said head upstairs. we did....and it fell down from there. I ordered wings..I love wings and these were the size of a quails wing, overcooked... More

During a 40F, rainy Friday stopped to have an Irish coffee. It was served, at best, warm by a waitress who wanted to be anywhere but serving me (us). The atmosphere was fantastic and we were able to sit by the fire...........a large build up to a sharp drop

As you enter Rí Rá you can imagine yourself walking through a door that leads you back in time to the peaceful and cozy atmosphere of a traditional pub 100 hundred years ago in Ireland. When you visit Rí Rá you will feel as if you are going back in time, such is the ambiance of the pub. All of the pub interiors were salvaged and restored in Ireland and shipped to Portland. The pub is on two levels, with three distinct areas.
