The food and service at Diamond's Edge are quite good. It is the location--on Great Diamond Island in Casco Bay--that makes this restaurant a unique dining destination. Diamond's Edge is a half hour ride by Casco Bay Lines passenger ferry from the Portland waterfront. It is located in a restored quartermaster warehouse that was once part of Fort McKinley, a... We have family that live on the island and this is their main restaurant to take family and friend to. Beautiful setting overlooking the cove and marina. A wide variety of foods are offered with a very informed staff .Can sit inside or out. Just really open for the summer season. Lots of people come by ferry from Portland for... More

Wow. Having grown up in the hospitality business, I always had a vision of what a perfect restaurant would be. But in my travels, nothing quite got all the way there...until Diamond's Edge. Maybe it was the beautiful weather, maybe it was the sunset, but I think it was the ambiance, the service, and the food. Ah yes, the food... More

My friends and I were staying at the Inn at Diamond Cove. The restaurant is a short walk or golf cart drive away, near the marina. The restaurant is in one of the buildings of the Fort on the island. The interior has a large bar area, cozy dining room, and wonderful outdoor seating on a large deck. The service... More

First time visitor to Portland and our host took us here. A ferry ride is about 30 minutes and the restaurant is about 250 yards from the dock. Try the whole Maine lobster dinner for $28. Leave in time to catch the boat back!

This place is only accessible via ferry, and we picked up the ferry in Portland. Restaurant seating was outside, overlooking the cove, and we lucked out with beautiful weather, a bit on the cool side. Calamari app was tasty, and everyone enjoyed their seafood entrees. I had fish and chips, and it was fresh and cooked perfectly. I didn't enjoy... More

Looking for an off the beaten path restaurant on our Maine vacation, we three adults took the ferry from Portland to Diamond Cove and to this gem of a restaurant. My expectations weren't terribly high, but it was a lovely ride out, a pretty day, and beautiful scenery. We were promptly seated for lunch, and proceeded to be very, very... More

I am always a little skeptical of island restaurants because a lot of them appeal mainly to tourists and quality is secondary. Diamond's Edge is not like that. The food is really very good with lots of choices, not just boiled lobster, and the service is very attentive and friendly. I had halibut that was terrific and my wife had... More
